Thanks Dinh. It is an awesome gun. It likes to blast bottle caps clean off at 50 yards!

My .25 Armada is my most accurate air rifle. Not sure if I'm capable of hitting a bottle cap at 50yd consistently, but I know the gun can.

Dabble in semi auto speed shooting at 50? What happens to the groups shooting quicker?

My Sortie lost its semiauto pretty early after acquisition. Fixed it a few times, never held, so turned it into a true shroud and never learned the effect of semi auto quick shooting on groups. Also hadn't modded the trigger yet back then either.

I sarted with some 25 and 30 yard spinner spoons using my peep-sighted HW30S.  Next, I shot the same spoons with my peep-sighted HW50S. The 50S requires a tighter hold than does the 30S.  I reckon that's due to the difference in recoil between the two HW's.

I shot the Fire/Prowler at spinners to start with.  H&N FTT at thirty yards.  The gun and I were both shooting pretty good so I decided to take the dogs for a walk through my permission. 

Out in the woods I couldn't hit a thing.

Back on the P3 today, first at a paster dot on white paper and then on a Shoot-N-C 6” bullseye target. Had a couple of bad shots on each of them, but other than those the gun seems to be shooting better since I ran the dry patch through the barrel. Most of those were shot sitting on the ground, open sights, from 25’ and then 33’. There’s a big improvement in both accuracy and precision once I am warmed up, so I should plan on several such “wasted” shots at the start every time.

It also helped that the wind had dwindled.

I ended the session with offhand standing from 33’, shooting at a can placed before a pellet trap. I think I worked out the best way to grip the gun, because I smacked the can down 6 out of 6 shots right-handed and 5 out of 7 shots left-handed (cross-dominant). I always shoot handguns both LH and RH. Maybe I can get 100% on both next time.

Was a nice afternoon when I started...  After getting set up, got only a halt dozen or so rounds squeezed off on my new 22 cal PP700SA before it started to get dark and windy.  My little backyard area isn't very long, I could stretch out the range to 10m if I work at it.  Have to move my kayak out of the way though.

The stock sights leave a lot to be desired.  The slot is too wide.  I sort of got a group, but it wasn't impressive.  Was shooting CPHP14.3 gr, so wasn't expecting a single hole.  I was aiming at the center of the bull and hit at 4 o'clock.  I have a red dot sight coming in and hope that will help some.  With glasses it's hard to get a good sight picture these days.  The PP700SA rear sight can crudely slide back and forth, but it's not under any screw control, and there's no elevation setting at all.

That being said it was good to get out an pop off a few.  The LDC I made seems to be working well.  I hear the hammer slap the valve and the pellet slap on the cardboard face of the target.  Since I use rubber mulch, there's no other sounds.

It was 48 out and raining, however my front porch was dry and allowed me to stay dry and check out my new Daisy Avanti 753 .177 target rifle and I'm liking it!  Charles

I took my peep sighted HW50S out and tried to shoot some 25 and 30 yard spoons but it is so cloudy dark I couldn't see 'em well enough to hit 'em with that hold sensitive girl.  So, I took her in and came back with my scoped HW50S.  That girl, with her 3-9 Nikon EFR scope, can see 'em and hit 'em.  That got kinda boring so I sighted her in at 30 yards. 3 clicks up and 2 clicks left and she was putting the 7.87 AA's into a 1/2" circle quite nicely.

I felt like doing some relaxed/lazy sitting and shooting on a perfect afternoon so I shot off the deck with the Webley Osprey.   Couldn't hit cans consistently at 30 yards.   Probably has a lot to do with not yet sighting it in properly for that distance.   Pulled out the HW30S and it became easy.   Course the HW has been sighted in for 10M.  The cans are really for pistols not rifles.

After a day of yard work, I finished around 5 and figured it was time to have some fun. Started off close range shooting with the Notos at steel spinners and fallen acorns. After about 40 shots, I decided to take the Notos long range.
I set up a bench and tethered up the carbine to the 9L Acecare. Started off with 2.5" steel spinners at 25yd. Then 35yd. Then 40yd. Tagging them all even with a strong right to left wind.  Finally, got out to the 50yd 2.5" steel plate, and lastly, to the 1.5" spinner at 55yd. which I  tagged 6 out of 8 attempts. 
I felt this was a great day of shooting. Long range with a medium power carbine, in windy conditions, using CPHP. I'm very pleased and really enjoyed myself.

It was cool out and raining, but from the garage, as long as it’s not below freezing, this is quite comfortable for me. I got to shoot my DPMS Panther A4 Classic .177 some.

I had been waiting for a day when I could play air rifle Kick the Can on a shared private (dirt) road. That day was today, because the neighbor went away on a trip.

Daisy 880 from a starting distance of at least 33’. Stood the old mauled can upright and then knocked it down, standing offhand. Ensuing can positions varied, so I shot kneeling or standing for variety also. Ten shots total. The 9th shot spun the can around so that its end faced me squarely. I sat down to make that shot. Hit the can all ten times.

Big disappointment was that even after going from 5 pumps, to 6, to 7, to 8, 9, and lastly, 10 pumps, the can didn’t get shoved very far down the road. More pumps did make it move farther, just not as far as I had hoped.

Next time I’ll start with a fresh can, a nice unmolested cylindrical one without jagged holes and dents all over it. Got to get rid of all that rolling resistance.

The biting cold wind was picking up, so I called it a good day and walked back home.

I need to fix that too. We both should be shooting together again and we should be shooting up those paintballs I got her, before they get too old.

That's a great idea John!  Get that time in with her while you can.  These days go by so quickly. 

I haven't been doing much airgunning this year as I have in years past.  Been busy with life and at this stage in my game (51) I am noticing that I am getting restless.  Our family is growing up, our finances are in order, I can see the finishline for retirement coming up.  I sense that I need some new challenges.  I have been thinking how I can challenge myself to keep things fresh.  I have some ideas, some big, others not so much.  Either way I try to remind myself to enjoy the journey and it's not always about the destination.  Think I'll shoot some airguns this afternoon with the fellas!  🎯🎯🎯

The temperature has dropped some 12-15° since I went out with dawg this morning and is forecast to drop another 20 or so degrees before we get up tomorrow morning. Winter is coming, at long last, to the Pineywoods. Armed with that forecast, I took my Beeman R7 out to the patio and shot some spinner spoons.  It is no longer tee shirt and shorts weather. Oh well, in another week, it'll be shooting weather again, maybe?

Didn’t have much time to shoot this weekend but removed the big honking muzzle brake from Custom Shop 1300KT today and replaced with a Buck Rail mod. Then proceeded to smack some cans around to test it. Should have done a long time ago, much nicer without that 10 lb weight hanging off a 10.5” barrel. That guns just wears cans out. Waiting on Oldgringo’s cold front to get here. Should start happening right about now.
