I was shooting my 853 and it looks like it needs another rebuild. It wasn't that long ago about a month or so, that I replaced the O-rings and valve with the rebuild kit.Everything was find until a couple of days ago when the last shots of the day dropped from the POI about 1 1/2". The next shots were about 2" low. It was getting late so I just put it up.The next day nothing changed, but for an unknown reason, it started firing like normal with normal velocity. That was a day and a half ago and now it's dropping shots again. I'll bet I haven't put a thousand rounds through it since the rebuild. Is this a usual problem inherent of all 853s ?I really don't want to do this again, especially so soon after the first rebuild replacement kit.I would like to hear from those who have had to rebuild theirs more than once in a short period of time.Thank you so much.RonPS. Does this O-ring look too narrow?

Does this O-ring look too narrow?I’m not an expert on this, but the groove seems perfectly normally for that O-ring.Years ago, I have sold thousands (all over the years) Dutch-made Dofra backpack sprayers to banana plantations, and the dual O-ring (Viton) 2-groove brass piston rod had a bit of allowance just like yours for the grease to house themselves.

There's about 3-5 shots through the ragged hole in the bull. Either pellet is more accurate than my "artillery hold" technique. This jumper likes a bag just past the trigger guard.....I think there's a couple "dang that GRT4 is light!" flyers as well..lolAlso shot the .303 Challenger with the just received NSA .303x61.5gr very nice groups with a 3800 fill consistent low first shot 4-7 ragged hole bull 8 or 9 could be low as well. The 40:1 NOE .300x63gr grouped okay but wider than the NSA and the flyers would be giggling ninja squirrels. If anyone has a true .300 barrel PM me about the mold. Looking at the 62gr Accurate Molds product spec at .303 +0.002/-0.000 for 40:1.A friend of mine has been hand loading for PBs for over 50 years, but wants to get a PCP for shooting steel in his back yard. Do you think an AEA Challenger would make a decent first PCP? I have a 457 Bullpup, and it's been essentially trouble free for me besides a cracked magazine cover, but I only single load it. He's specifically looking at 30 cal for having enough energy to knock down his pistol silhouettes. Has yours required any tinkering?I got the gun from SmythG and lol he bought a brand new one to fill that spot. Stock with a little starting fill adjustment you can get to 8-9%ES around 85-95fpe with Hatsan pellets from Field Supply or .303 NSA 47.2s (from NSA no longer offered in 303 from PA).I tried to insert a Huma reg because the BinTac Reg is no longer available. Then I tried to make an SSS with spring changes and now I'm trying to cast slugs. None of that tinkering is necessary. 85fpe tune should knock down steel plates. With the 70x25x2mm spring and a shim I peaked in the 115fpe range with a 4,00psi fill which could knock down anything shy of yearling deer IMHOBest of luck.I would also suggest the AEA 9mm as he could probably shoot one of his pistol boolits 80-125gr (worst case single shot if too long for the mag).Best of luck IMHO it's one of the best $375 hunting PCPs out there

The horror is from the horrible wood, horrible metal, horrible trigger, horrible fit and finishes. I do admire the rubber faucet washer I jammed in for a breech seal.
Nice grouping. Ron
Spent the afternoon with NSA slugs, Allen wrench, hammer springs and the .303 Challenger. Ended with a 100-110fpe, 8%ES sexy ragged hole tune. We'll see if I can duplicate it at the LGR at 24yards. I will be placing the NOE68FN 2 cavity on the WTS/WTT thread. The SPA800r had a 5-7%ES at 16fpe with the NOE hand picked pellets. Ended the day with the Notos and hand picked NOEs 3-5fps ES ..big smile.
I named one of mine "FooManChew".

My 22 Stormrider (PR900r) with altaros reg manages 42 shots per fill at 699 FPS with an 11.1 FPS ES and 2.7 FPS SD. The SPA regs must be getting better. With the Altaros reg in my PP800 I wasn't making thag much power or getting many shots. It's now using a 177 rifle barrel, small bottle, and getting 24 shots averaging 954 FPS, 26 ES, and 6.5 SD.

I really wanted a 25 yard squirrel sidearm for when I'm in a tree stand with some other tool or scout walking with my run-n-gun pack. The fpe is the same as my scope busting jumper. The air cylinder is so small I only get 7 shots (one mag) with this tune, but that;'s all I need for hunting. The PP800r and Notos have got me considering packing the hand pump this fall....hmm....Already adding weight if I get the camping stool for ground blind sitting......
