Cometa Indian. Glad I bought one years back when PA had them in stock. Great air pistol. I don't know who designed, but it used to be sold as the RWS-9.

IMHO, it puts the Webley Tempest/Hurricane, which it vaguely resembles, to shame.

 FX DRS, Wing Shot think I found a good load combo, worked with Bismuth shot, waiting on tungsten to arrive. Finished up with the GK1 then back to the DRS to test Donny FL Tatzu, could be quieter, but their are fixes.

Before and After photos from tonight. Shot with Daisy 880 (Hawke Vantage on 2x, lowest magnification), distance 33’ from muzzle, sitting on ground with bent left knee under supporting arm. RWS Superdome pellets, a favorite with this gun as well as, surprisingly, the Beeman P3.

That was the first shot today. The other 19 targeted a small can at 42’ and a dead tree at about 65’. I’ve been using the tree and its branches to practice shooting up as if aiming at a ECD.

The old Blue Streak got a few tree hits last night.

Continued gusty wind and my allergies still bother me. Just as the sun is setting there is sometimes 10 to 30 minutes of relative calm, nice for a very short after-dinner session.

I use 2 AV shot shells one small original and the current larger version gets me 1 .65 oz load 2 small .52 oz, not counting bbs just yet

Now that the compressor is online I've been absolutely blasting targets with my air rifles. I've dusted off my 177, 22, and 25 cal rifles, now to get the 45 cal out!

Is there a better source on shells for these now? I always liked the idea of getting one tuned by CAP, but the single use shells turn me off. It's way cheaper to just shoot PB shotguns.

Yes .50 sabots are an option , also serpent has a reloadable shell IIR , I will be looking into them more when the hundreds of the ones I have become diminished.

I like the Serpent shells, but wonder how you get new caps, because those are coming out of the muzzle very quickly!

Yesterday my final two shots dropped a good 3" from POA.
I cocked it again and I could hear some hissing and gurgling from around the breech area.

I was thinking that I would have to do another rebuild. It hasn't been that long.

This morning I tried it out again and the first shot was ok, then when I cocked it the gurgling was back.

But after that it seems to be shooting well as usual.

I have no idea of why it's so intermittent.

If it keeps shooting ok, then fine, but if it continues to be hit or miss (pun intended) then I might have to
do another rebuild with changing the O-rings and valve kit.

I sure don't want to do that.

Shot the R9 over the chronograph using the 14.5 Norma Superpoint Strike pellets average muzzle velocity 684 average velocity at 25 yards 603 Energy at the muzzle 15.07 ft lbs Energy at 25 yards 11.71 ft lbs The B.C. I get from this data shows it to be .019 The HAM article shows these pellets having a B.C. rating of .012? I'm using the Pyramid Air Balistics calculator to get the numbers?
