After a two week hiatus (which was anything but a vacation!), I pulled out my Crosman Nitro Venom Dusk .177 and, after a few warm-up rounds, shot three tight 5-shot groups: 1@3/4", 1@1", and 1 @ 1/2". I'm thrilled. My one flyer was a bad breathing twitch--cost me the 1"ctc. Oh, well, I'm thrilled to be narrowing down to 1/2" at 13 yards. I know, it's not spectacular for some; but, for me, it's PROGRESS!!!!

Oh, best pellet today was the H&N 8.64 FTT. the H&N seriously outshot the RWS 8.3 Superdome, which has been my go-to on the Crosman.

Rain here today but yesterday I got out a couple of my old Sheridan Bluestreaks. I'd forgotten how sweet those guns shoot! Dead nuts accurate, smooth, nice triggers. Don't recall the exact years but 1 has the hold down safety and the other has a rocker safety. After wearing myself out recently shooting my Hatsan 0.25 cal QE (58# cocking effort) it was nice shooting and cocking the much lighter and easier to cock Bluestreaks!

I think everyone had rain. I shot my 760B after replacing the barrel with a rifled barrel. It was accurate as a smooth bore with certain pellets but now it shoots them all well. Woods has to dry up a little so I can try it at longer range than I have in my dinky basement. Another addition to my small collection of parts -- barrels, sights, etc.

Shot two of my air rifles today: HW97K and Crosman Venom Dusk--both .177s.

Initially, I picked out four pellets, of which two were a rematch of yesterday with the RWS Domed Pellet 8.3 and the H&N 8.64 FTT. Also, I shot the RWS 8.2 Pointed pellet (yuck) and the H&N Wadcutter 8.18 (great pellet). With the HW97K, I was able to shoot a ragged hole with the three good pellets. The RWS pointed pellets acted unstable. Clearly the HW97 does NOT LIKE this pellet. Then, I switched over to the Crosman Venom and watched it demonstrate three different grouping tendencies, with the best being both the H&Ns. Despite the grain difference, the 8.64 and 8.18 shot superbly. The RWS domes were good but not great. And, no surprise, the Venom didn't like the RWS pointed pellets.

However, my P17 loved the pointed pellets and provided a great upper body workout, as always.

QUESTION: Are the pointed pellets simply more stable at lower FPS?

Woke up a little early this morning and a beautiful morning it is. Finished my shower and was on my second cup of coffee when I noticed my Crosman Blaze NP hanging on it's rack. I hadn't shot this gun in quite some time so I snatched it down and outside we went.
At the back deck shooting bench I shot maybe 15 or 20 .177 Benji hollow points (it's favorite pellet) at the steel blank some 25yds away. Not so much as a click on a turret and it was dot for dot. This gun has the RC roller bearing trigger mod and is arguably the sweetest break barrel I've ever owned/shot... I think I paid $35 for the gun with the trigger already installed.

P-rod. Oh my goodness, I'm in love with this little gun. I haven't adjusted anything yet, and it's such a sweet shooter and a dream to pump up. It's so easy thst I'm going to have to start ordering pellets in bulk. 🤣 I've tried several different pellets and it has shot everything well except crow magnums and the new style Daisy pointed pellets. I have an old tin of Daisy Max Speed pointed that it loves. I moved a set of my spinners out to 55 yards last night and had no trouble knocking all the paint off with cphps.

Shot 1/2 Dzn. aerosol cans with the ole Benjamin Genesis .22 , have a Dzn. more to finish off next week, then after work I set out by the pasture and popped 1/2 dzn or so HOSP with the P-rod, even shot some with JSB Hades, like to try them with a bit more energy next.
