If you read the YongHeng Manual you will see they recommend ISO VG46 or AW46. I use Mobil Hydraulic ISO VG46 in mine with no problems.

Agreed. Page 4, post 67 I posted a picture from the manual showing their oil recommendations. That should be enough for people to realize this is not a dive compressor and was never intended to be one. Even some of the ads say......

Yes, a Frenchman convinced a group of crowd funding fools to put money into his idea of making it a SCUBA compressor (like polishing dog doo-doo). But serious SCUBA divers won't touch it. And can't find a fire department or dive shop using it for breathing air. 

Now for all its warts, it does what I bought it to do. I spent the better part of yesterday shooting the Gauntlet and to be fair, its almost too easy to fill a tank, empty it, and fill it again. Ridiculous fast and easy. I did buy a 9" fan to blow across the head and stainless steel ($16 bucks at a dollar store). Haven't taken it out of the box. Ran the compressor for 3 minutes plain water before starting the fill and it only got to 48C by time I was done.

$64.40 for 1 gallon of Nuvair- chemelube 157 ... I just ordered the right stuff for my compressor , and I was right to do so according to Nuvair ,and North shore compressor according to both its especially the  second stage high pressure that really warrants using this better oil …. why cheap out ? … on a oil not designed to run in the demands of that  second stage …..

I always thought it was the seal breaking down, yet it was still there when I switched to PEEK seal, natural tan color and not known to make dust.

There may be some oil blow by detonating in the second stage, leaving soot and busting first stage piston faces...

Fantastic !  the more of us that run chemlube 751 the more data we will have , and the ones that have already been running it appear to be all positive results ,with 1 having three years use still performing good , I will have 7 tanks ready to be filled from 3000 to 4000 psi I think I will charge them 2 … 4=44cf ,and 3 =88cf scba tanks ...  so I should get a good break in /test shot with those tanks to get things going ….

I need to get a long filter for the out board side , I've seen a  bunch on ebay does anyone know what the better quality one is to go with ? ?

I've been using a charcoal coalescing tower with drain spout.  And the factory filter after.  Almost nothing gets thru.  By almost I mean there's hardly anything on the filter, and its always dry as a bone on the output side.

I use dual gold filters. One is charcoal both with drains and also use the factory cigarette filter. Plus you see my home made air intake filter. The air coming out stays super dry.

It doesn' t seem to matter how many times you preach proper oils for HP Compressors, seem people will simply continue to ignore the information. 

I use the Shield AW46 Hydraulic Fluid.i have two yong hengs and they both get the Shield AW46 Hydraulic Fluid and they both have performed very well over three years just filling rifles.temps never above 41c...so what am I missing?do you have a yong heng cheap Chinese compressor?the oil is clean as the day I put it in the compressor when I changed it.
  the Shield AW46 Hydraulic Fluid works very well in the cheap little compressors and I wouldn't use ANY other type no matter what the preacher man proclaims.it was the recommended oil in instructions when I received both the little yong hengs.also I may add that the cheap little Chinese compressor was/is the best buy I have made since entering the PCP world,well other than the hated FX rifles.

As stated, works well in my compressor, that’s all I know.

 all i can say it keep it simple...i never had a problem using the recommended oil going on three years using BOTH my cheap little yong hengs.matter of fact after three years of pumping air they have not let me down nor have run times increased...use them for what they were designed to do and there will be no problems.when the air pressure gets up around 2500 psi the yong heng really smooths out and jumps right up to 3300 psi with no strain at all.fill time from 145 bar to 225 bar is around 50 seconds and temp to 41c.

How much did y'all pay for your YH compressors?

I'm seeing prices all over the map, but I've seen the auto-stop version for $285, and the set pressure version for $305-335. Is that price likely to come down in the near future?
Amazon even has the auto-stop version for $329 with Prime shipping.

I just got a SCBA tank off eBay and there's no way I'm filling that with a hand pump. I am trying to see what a local dive shop can do for a SCBA hydro/refill, but having my own pump sure would be convenient.
