 I got to my destination digging out drainage ditch, a few more blockages upstream to deal with but the main jam is cleared. Time to clean up the mess.

Bought an electric pressure washer from Harbor Freight and the plan is to clean and paint the trim and front deck.
The new rack and pinion came in for the gator. I noticed the right side had a wiggle in it on the hard road. I checked it and that side was worn. Figured for $100 I just replace it. Simple job just have to add it to the to do list.
Should be able to finish up the clean up in the front yard today and I put some feelers out for some free topsoil to fill a couple holes and low spots. Sew some grass seed and see what happens.

Whew, busy day yesterday.
Got the yard clean up in the front yard done. Then we got the new pressure washer out and washed the entire front of the house and the front deck. Went through 3 gallons of soap. The deck framing, benches and rafters cleaned up really good and probably don't need painted. Most of it was stuck on green pollen. The deck boards will need painted. We're going to paint all the trim on the house with the same color deck red. It's a redish brown color that will look good in our woodsy environment.
I used the pressure washer on the xturn and was amazed... it looks brand new. I did the gator too but it's kinda hard to make drab Army green bright and shiny.   

Today the plan is to move on to the casting shack area. We'll clean the area around it then pressure wash and paint the trim on that as well. That is, if the rain holds off.

Learned a valuable lesson yesterday. Safety First... pressure washing requires safety glasses. I got some of the detergent in my eyes and thought I was going to go blind. It is very much like flash burn from a welder. My right eye got the worst of it and I struggled with it all night long. It's still vary irritated and watery this morning but not nearly as bad as it was. If the sun comes out today I'll most likely need sun glasses.

Bill, I have string mower that slings stuff everywhere. Safety glasses is standard wear when I run it. Same goes for the chipper/shredder. It has thrown stuff back out of the hopper several times. Basically anything I operate that has the potential to throw something. Sitting in the ER getting this stuff fished out is not fun. I keep sterile eyewash stocked here at the house for the minor emergencies. Gloves is the other ppe in supply of, I hate cuts and blisters.

Also be sure to wear solid shoes.  A couple years ago I was pressure washing the concrete wearing crocs.  I wasn’t 100% mindful as I was sweeping it and I swept over  the inside edge of my left foot.  I pressure washed the skin right off of my foot on my toe.  The blast went through one of the little holes on the Croc.

 My wife wanted to see a yard sale so we went for a drive, and out to eat after, (Wendy's)
 at the sale I found a Regency D300 Radio scanner to fool with, for my radio collection.
 Cleaned up nice. Works fine, 30 channels, from the early 90's.

My wife and I attended the D-Day 81st anniversary ceremony at the National WWII Museum in NOLA.
The ceremony was at 0630, the same (local) time that the landings commenced.
Last year's ceremony was longer than this year's 10 minutes.......

We want thru much of the Museum on Thursday, then headed to a local German restaurant for essen und bier......

Bill it'll shine if you wax on wax off that sucker. Yep soap in the eyes is killer. In the mouth sux too but that was for a different reason back in the day.

Kris I see people cutting trees all the time with no safety glasses while chain sawing and when weed eating too. That's just begging for something in the eyes.

It's  a good thing I wear glasses since I have a somewhat reckless indifference to normal safety equipment useage.   Regular eyeglasses are not as good as safety glasses but are a lot better than nothing.
