What airgun related did you do today?

Matt came by today and we shot the snot out of some new targets.
Introduced him to the cheap dollar store lollipops and my new 'toss the pellet back at you' shooting trees.
 
Also filled his air tank before he left.

I received the refurbished Hatsan QE flash Friday I put about 3 shots through it then. Today  received the Yong Heng Air Pump so I got it up and running. to the outdoors I went after finding a old crossman scope that I threw on just for fun.
Well about 3 shots with the scope a adjustment 1 full turn up and a 1/4 to the left  I hit two chicken eggs at about 60-75 feet.
So for more distance 100 yard was a 1 letter pop bottle with the bottom headed my way.  1st shot a miss 2 shot miss so up a few more clicks on the scope and bang. three hits in a row.
so hopefully tomorrow I get to use some paper at about 60 yards and actually see what king of groups I get. hopefully everyone had a good day.

Worked on the covered outdoor shootin range...
As I mentioned in the "What you shootin' gate, we have a 12' wide wrap around deck. The front is adorned with the many antique and old school stuff that had been left here on the 100 year old farm/home stead over the years. The back has become quite the catch all.
You'll notice in the first pic, there is a door leading inside to 2 spare rooms. The first houses Betty Lou's computer and the air compressors. The next is airguns and a tinker bench.
The next pic shows 31yds to the pellet target trap measure with the Tasco rangefinder.
It's backed with high strength steel automotive blanks to stop stray pellets. It's made to set up many shooting configurations such as paper, paintballs, cans or whatever. (as seen in the 3rd pic) I have a hose down there for clean up.
It's all lighted for night shooting.
The last pic is from the target back to the bench.
Next step is to move some of that junk out to one of the outbuildings or down the road to the bulk trash pick up area...

I checked tracking on my Wildcat that is supposed to be delivered tomorrow and I looked at the trees and bushes and assessed the wind, pretending that I was going to have time to shoot at that moment.

Thanks Brett... I been in and out all morning shooting and coming in to cool down some. The fans help but hot air is still hot air. the next couple of days promise to be high 90's to 100*. Humidity is the killer though. Best bet is to get out around 5am until 8 or 9 when it gets hot quickly.

It's not the heat and humidity that bothers me so much its them bugs, the mosquito's are bad enough but the deer flies and them gnat's are terrible right now.  It seems like the gnats try to dive bomb at my eyeballs, then I can't see nothing worth a darn when I have a bug in my eye.

 Swapped the .177  24" barrel back onto the 2240 rifle.   I keep going back and forth between 16 1/2" and 24".

The shorter is a little handier, but the longer is quieter..

Thanks, it's nice to pop out that door and take a few shots then jump back inside to the a/c. I can drop another tarp on the left side of the bench in the colder months and fire up a torpedo or propane heater.

I've been working on my target box adding pieces of a truck mud flap I found at work.
6 pumps on the Benji 342 passes right through but did no damage to the back of the box, so I'm going just line the back with a couple pieces.

The hanging rubber flap doesn't have the exact effect I wanted because it's a bit stiff, but it seems to be a decent material.

Ideally I'd like something a bit thicker but more pliable and floppy.

Picked up a Cannon print/scan/copier at Walmart on sale for $19 for printing targets... Heck, at that price I could just throw it out when it runs out of ink.
The black refill is $17 and the color is $22.

As far as your nice sheltered range could you make like a mudroom out of it and put in gun ports? I t would keep the cool in and the hot out if you could vent some ac to it OK maybe that's my pipe dream LOL Carry on .

I bought one a few years ago for $40. I used it so rarely that the ink dried in it. It won't work now. Betty Lou said.. "Can't you fix it?".
Nope, not work the effort. Best bet would be just use it as a scanner but they all scan now.

LOL.... it's so close to that back door that I can pop out and shoot a couple mags and pop back in and check on the GTA while I cool off.  Works out well.
While outside I scan the perimeter for pest invaders.
Also the security cameras are monitored from that room.
