What airgun related did you do today?

I failed to get my 69 Crosman 760 reassembled correctly. I spent all the time I had today messing with it but no luck. Probably should have sent it to someone who knew what they were doing but that is too easy. Has anyone made a decent video of rebuilding one of the older 760`s? I have looked but not found one that is helpful.

I did a fresh cast of 26 grain 25 cals this morning for a Xisico Sentry .25 HC that's headed my way.  I even made a nice custom lable for the tin.  There's 303 in the tin and I only had 7 bad skirts.

If I had to guess I would say that dreaded quad seal is the problem. It's kinda tricky until you've done a couple.

Took out the Silver Bullet from the cabinet and began shooting at 0530.  Being dark I was having a bit of trouble hitting the "opening" steel target on top to release the four below, so I realized at dark I'd definitely need a glassed rifle.  Which one did I choose? I looked at the FWB Sport with its Burris 4-12X and almost leaped for it to set the record out there in the dark straight!

But I didn't get the FWB! I got the R9!  It's glassed with a Nikon 2-7X UCC Monarch 32mm, and the optics are so light clear I shot the opening ring of steel first shot!

As light came slowly I alternated firing and got to the point I could see enough definition in the iron sights of the Silver Bullet rifle (my HW35 E) to pick them off in the usual outstanding and joyful standard the HW35 E is.

Then I put away the R9 and continued with the 35 E to this minute!  Many dozens of pellets have been shot, and many more will be until it is too dark to fire with open sights.

Going trough every airgunsite on the internet to find out what my next gun will be, at first i was set for a pcp, a hatsan bt65 .22, very powerful but low shotcount, then a hatsan flash .177 or at44 .177, cause i dont have a powerful 177 pcp, but not so many shots from the flash either, then a hw95 came crawling in my head, would love one in 177,but i have so many good 177 rifles and if i get a 22 the hw97k would be jelaous i think...

I have 2 95s and an R9.  The HWs are .177 and the R9 is .22.  All great guns.  I prefer them in .177 vs .22 but it is nice to have a .22 break barrel.  The .22 likes the H&N FTTs in 5.53 head size best and many others report the same with their HWs.  Whatever you do keep us posted.

Get the 95 in .22, you won't regret it

Not today, but this past weekend, I'd decided to send all my cardboard gun boxes off to the recycling center. I have this habit of needing to save all the packaging of things I buy. I think I may have a hoarding potential. I try to fight this behavior. Plus, they were just taking up too much valuable space in my basement.  There, now I have free spaces..................to fill with more "toys"

Hehe, no i hope not, but i do have a couple german ladys i think i will send down to check how deep it is...(Hw50s that is, one of the best airguns ever built, and i manage to get 2 lemons…)

Yesterday I stuck a self-adhesive clear vinyl nubbie, a bumpah - onto the smooth wood butt of my Diana 24 and I like it.  It does two good things: it is a grippy little cushion that the rifle rests on, instead bruising its wooden back end more than it already is and two, it stabilizes the butt of the rifle in my shoulder while shooting and improves consistency.  "Hey nice nub!"

I swapped some different guns & scopes around and sighted a couple of the guns in. The  .30 Wildcat MK2 is @ 50 yds & the .177 Streamline at 25. The Streamline will stay at that sight-in range as that is my squirrel gun & typical shooting range. I might adjust the Wildcat out to 75 at some point but I had other things that needed done today.

That's not a bad idea. One of the problems I have with springers is getting the shoulder pressure consistent. Maybe a little nub like that would help.

Re-did the milk crate and rubber mulch pellet trap.  Then took the Maximus off the wall for the first time in a year to see if it still shot the same.  48 shots, 24fps deviation, 18fpe.  I'm surprised the settings have stayed put so long.  I need to get down to one gun so they don't sit on the wall idle so long... Yeah right!

     I was bored. So I had already de-tuned my spring powered .177 Optimus, which made it a very smooth shooting rifle, and sighted it in for 20 yards. I had ordered a F4 air rifle from field supply for $58 shipped, and decided I would use the barrel off the Optimus with the sights, on the F4 when it arrives for another project gun to give to a friend of mine.
     I had already shortened up a badly bent barrel from my .22 Titan and added a fake LDC  to it to aid in cocking it. I put that barrel on the Optimus, and to my surprise, it had the same zero as the stock .177 barrel so all was good.
      I have decided to drill and tap all the extra F4 barrels that have no sights so I can put open sights on them. Was even thinking about a Hatsan rear sight on a Crosman barrel to see if it was any better. Things to do while idle and healing up from surgery, LOL.

This morning I cast up 369 good .22 Magnum Hunter pellets @ 23g., I only had 17 bad ones from the whole batch.

No pics but i decided to make an FT stock for my much modded cr600 .22. It will be a mix of maple , cocobolo and aluminum shiny bits. I'm using my other stock I built for rough guidelines although 1322 is mucho diff.

Found a mud flap off a dump truck,  I cut it into pieces to fit my pellet trap.

Introduced him to the cheap dollar store lollipops and my new 'toss the pellet back at you' shooting trees.
 
Also filled his air tank before he left.
