I got to shoot some today. Thanks to Charles 2AGa., I got some JSB Exact Diabolo 18.13 to try in my ‘Cuda Max with my reorder of H&N Baracuda 18s… I couldn’t be happier, no adjustments at 30 meters, but definitely shooting tighter. Those are 6” plates with a 7/8” center. I’ll still shoot the Baracuda 18s, but I’m going to stock up on the JSB 18.13 gr.

I shot my Cometa Fenix Star in .177 today and liked how well we jelled, I just ordered one in .177 today.   Charles

Drizzling after work.  Still had to test the .302 casts in ThickGirl (aka .303 Challenger).  To keep from getting bags and camping chair wet I shot off hand at 17 yards.  Groups were tighter, but inconclusive without the bag/support.  More on casts in that thread.

Oh yeah, those are 10 shot groups… I’ll only need one shot per Squirrel. 🐿️  Season opened May 15.

Finally got a pellet trap, so I invited a young nature loving couple visiting us to shoot the 3622. They had a great time. The man had experience with PB shooting and did best, but the girl was not far behind at 10 yards and 20 yards. First time she shot anything and won’t be the last. He asked about rabbit hunting, so we might have an adventure later.

 Shot the BP-Rod and the DRS .22 out to 50, first was the BP-Rod piece of cake with 3 mil holdover. Next was do some scope adjustment on the DRS then had some fun with it most of the late afternoon.

Grabbed a relatively calm period in the morning to shoot a mini soda can with the Blue Streak, three shots from 33’ and the rest from 45’, which is as far as that area can be used. All were done sitting on the driveway using the knee under the support arm. I adjusted the peep a tiny bit to the right and down.

Cast some 39gr hp bbt slugs (.25) yesterday and shot them out of the gk1 today.  The fit snugly in the chambers of the cylinder/mag thanks to the drive bands.

I didn't test accuracy formally, but I was hitting everything that I pointed at, and just about where i was trying to hit. These are easy to cast so will probably be my go to  for the gk1.

 I found a stash of those in .22 and tried for fit in my GK1 yesterday, IIR I sized them and they were a loose fit so I removed the test slug. I will have to cast some fresh ones for the GK1. Ran out of time and misplaced mt Orion mag for the FX DRS, that was next inline to test, before time to do so ran out.

Had Betty Lou's highly modified .22 Maximus out this morning. It shoots the cast pellets a 1" for 30yds. but it loves CPUM and CPHP. Minute of paintball at 30.

I did get to shoot some on Sunday in the afternoon. I have confirmed my ‘Cuda Max .22 is really taking to the JSB Exact Diabolo 18.13 gr. I finished by putting 10 more pellets on top of the 10 shots that were already on that 6” steel plate. I had used up a can of orange tractor paint, refreshing targets. So, I put a JSB through the tractor tire on the can. A beautiful plume of orange blew out.

I've been waiting for a hot day to shoot CO2 guns.   It was 86 degrees so I brought out the chrono and my S&W  78G shooting CPHP 14.3gr pellets.    On a new CO2 cartridge I was able to fire 52 shots on high power between 362 and 386 FPS.   Mixed in with the 52 high power shots I tried  3 shots with the power adjuster in 1 turn (340 FPS) and also 3 shots  with the power adjuster 2 turns in (308 FPS) and a few shots on low power.  The low power velocity was only 130 to  133 FPS.   After those 61 shots the velocity dropped off pretty quickly using the high power setting again.     I'm surprised that one CO2 cartridge gave me that many shots and I don't see  why I would ever use anything but the highest power setting.   I'm not impressed with the trigger and there's no easy way to mount an optic.   The accuracy is OK at best but iron sights are tough with old eyes.   I really wanted to like this gun because of it's physical similarity to my S&W mod 41 but the offhand bullseye shooting experience is totally different in a bad way.  My SSP pistols have more velocity, better triggers, better accuracy, can easily mount optics and don't require purchasing  CO2 although none of them feel like the Smith mod 41.  I should probably sell the mod 78G  but I really like the way it looks and hangs in my hands.

Just plinking today, first with my R9 and then I grabbed my Diana 34. Both rifles shoot the FFT 4.52 equally well. Both capable of hitting 1/2" spinners at 30 yards repeatedly. Today after the wind picked up I move the spinner rack to 25 yds.

I also tried the resetable knock down target RAT ON THE RUN  from Air Venturi .

Freshened up the Spinners with Rustoleum Black.
Shot the pp800r with the Romeo5 with contacts instead of glasses and evening not high noon I am seeing one crisp dot.
Killing the spinners at 7M but nothing at 10m.
I believe the 19.2s are low in this AG.
Shot the 19.2 casts through the Notos holding over one mil at 10 yards and ringing all the spoons.

I shot the BB version P365.  I loaded up in the shop, picked up a 70# bag and jogged with that on my shoulders for 120 yards.  Drop the bag, load the magazine, engage 3 targets with 3 shot multiples until empty.  Throw the bag back on my shoulders and jog 75 yards back to the shop to reload BBs and do it all over again.  I did this for 4 laps. No weight on my back and a victory lap on the 5th one.  It definitely gets the heart rate up ⬆️ ❤️‍🔥 and it was fun too 🥳😎
