Did some backyard offhand plinking with the Sig Sauer and Crosman MK2. Then it was time for the serious 10M practice with the IZH46M. Almost dragged out a rifle but the darn things are just so bulky and heavy compared to pistols.

Yesterday... reminds me of a Beatles Song, but I finally got my shot on the pesky squirrel that has been hiding in a group of bushes and he is fast. this time he took off when I showed up but he made the mistake of stopping and checking things out... Wham Ban, he got in the back of the head.
I would add, one of the cleanest shots I have had with my Armada.

Now on to the two others giving me the slip.

I just pulled out the Air Venturi V10, mounted a Bushnell red dot and sighted it in. I haven't shot this for quite a while and I had forgoton how nice it is. I fired a couple comparison groups (offhand) between the IZH 46M and the V10. The IZH has a better trigger, I like the V10 grips more. The V10 is about 10 ounces lighter and much less muzzle heavy. As I get older weight and weight distribution has become a much bigger deal. I used to prefer muzzle heavy on all my competition pistols but I guess I'm not as strong and steady as I used to be. Anyways the group sizes on both AGs was pretty close. I've been practicing 10M offhand with the IZH most days for a few years now so I should be much more comfortable shooting the IZV vs the V10. I'll be doing more comparison shooting with these two for a while. I'm really hoping the lighter V10 turns out to be more accurate for my shooting style.

Did a quick 50 yard showdown DRS vs DAR. I was distracted a bit as a rabbit and a squirrel busted out of the bushes when I placed the targets.

It appears that the DAR won.

The rabbits are in cahoots with the squirrels. But the "came out of nowhere" squirrels are my Achilles heel for
getting things done.

Nothing, My wife just came in telling me to try for more gophers tomorrow though. Since they don't stick there heads up for long it takes a lot of patience or luck to have the right timing to shoot them. It's hard for me to wait them out, catch them coming out of "the right hole", and shoot them.

I shot two diametrically opposed styles of air rifle back to back today. The Hatsan mod 135 and the Xisico XS60C. Mainly I was flipping spinners on my 30 yard range. The mod135 shooting 25.39gr JSB Kings is plenty accurate enough to hit my 1.5” resetting spinner target consistently but it totally overpowers the catch mechanism. The XS60 makes beaucoup power too but it does it much more civilly. After I renewed the lead plating on all my spinner targets I decided to do some penetration tests with the mod 135.

Out came a beat up old Coleman propane can. The first photo is of the penetration of a JSB King from thirty yards against an already flattened portion of the can.

The second photo shows a partial penetration of the waist of the can where the metal is thickest. Shooting squirrels with this cannon just doesn’t seem fair.

Cometa Indian. Glad I bought one years back when PA had them in stock. Great air pistol. I don't know who designed, but it used to be sold as the RWS-9.

IMHO, it puts the Webley Tempest/Hurricane, which it vaguely resembles, to shame.

its a very unique pellet pistol and i wish i would have gotten one back in the day because i never see them on the second hand market. same with the sig target match pistol, the chiappa fas pistol, and gamo compact
