I took another shot with the Huben pistol, then I handed it over to Chuck, who runs a cider press at another orchard, he took a couple shots, then with a big grin, handed it over to his employe Ed who is into PB, he asked so I can just let them rip ? I said yup, and he let 5 rounds go, said I can let him shoot my airguns any time.
My ailing Crosman 2300S.New to me 5-6 years ago and no clue how many time is was shot before me.I know I have shot is 6,000 times.Last week the CO2 just started blowing out of the barrel.I watched some videos and ordered a o-ring kit.I installed the o-rings..NADAStill leaking.I tried to get a new valve.Crosman said no.Ordered just valve spring.Put that in.Still leaking.Had to be dirt or debris that was keeping the valve open.(The new spring BTW is about twice as strong as the original.)Took the valve apart and cleaned everything. There was a lot of dirt at the back of the poppet where it seals against the rear of the valve.Everything back together and new CO2 installed.VOILA.No air leaks so I touched off a quick 40.I did crack the GIZMO under the Williams rear sight that clamps onto the grooves.I’ve done that before and Williams sells me a replacement GIZMO.I am feeling pretty good about my mechanical skills. Not bad for a 78 year old curmudgeon !

Filing away for future reference. Williams had a machine that had to be repaired and the sliding GIZMO is currently on back order. Ask me how I know Back-Roads, sounds like you’re digging the Huben pistol? Mentioned it to my wife today. Might end up on my Christmas list.
