A bit more plinking with the '77 Crosman 38T today. No way am I paying $17 a tin for .177 pellets, but if these R10 match pellets go on sale again I'd buy a couple more tons because I have a few low powered guns that love them as well as this 38T.

So glad you posted about them and I checked them out. I bought 8 tins and still feel like I should have bought more. Ha ha!

After I bought the 8 tins I was seeing where guys were getting 12 tins and even more. I had planned on getting more but waited too long. Ive only tried them in my Browning Buck Mark so far and they shoot better than any other in it.
Shot another rat at the neighbors coop again. Used that AWESOME bullpup the FX Wildcat MKI in 177 caliber. See one, shoot one! That's #17.

They have an infestation going on. Tunnels under the coop in the ground and the neighbors on the other side of their fence have a coop 15-20' away so it's prime conditions for food and shelter for these vermin. I learned about the problem from a fence line conversation and I offered to help by shooting them if they were OK with that. They accepted. So, I just give them a text for the OK and I grab my gear and slip through the fence and use a red light mounted on the gun to illuminate the target. It's to the point now where I'm having to drop some bait (bark butter bird suet pellets) to get them to show themselves. Activity has slowed waaaay down which is good. I have suggested to the neighbors to take some additional measures to put pressure on the rats but they haven't done anything about it yet. Until they take more permanent measures to get rid of these rats, I'll just continue to hunt them since they will keep repopulating and moving back in to the tunnels that are already there. Good thing is that this coop is on the far side of their property from our side.

And do you shoot prone, seated or standing. Distance? How many targets do you usually neutralize? Is that you preferred weapon for this task?
8.5'? or 8.5 yds? At the shorter range I would have my open sight rifle going.

I didn’t want to spend the extra $$$ for what I perceive to be a temporary set up/shooting gig. I tried a dot sight on a pistol but it didn’t work as well as I had hoped (more difficult for me to find the sight picture and get on target, sounds backwards, right?). I also mounted a BugBuster scope (3 yard close focus) and thought that I had it sighted in at that distance. I took 3 shots on three rats and recovered 0. Nowhere to be found, didn’t get that POP sound when hit, no sign of blood and no floppy dance 💃 since I do head shots. Checked zero back at the shop on paper and it was spot on. ?? Decided to go back to what was known to be working for me and that’s where I am again. Thought about just going iron sights on a different gun either a pistol or my Daisy 953. Wish I still had my pp700sa with folding stock. That would have been a good one but then again, the Wildcat is shorter overall and packs more punch. Any way I look at it, it’s still fun!!!
