The D54 Hector Special....wait until I shoot it now......I have to pick it up out of my bedroom by my head and uncap the scope (Traditions 3-10X with "Day of the Jackel" by Fredrick Forsythe starring Edward Fox as the .22 Hornet or .22 WMR shooter at Charles.

A Hit.

Just now at 30 yards to 1.5" steel offhand.

That is what I am talking about--one shot one controlled hit without any excuse.

My wife just witnessed it in the living room!

I shot my Winchester 1100 with the new scope on it.  I got it roughly zeroed using some Winchester domes. I will revisit it for a final zero later.  Gonna take the RIM out and try some new 16gr AA domes I just ordered.  Hoping for good things.

Just finished shooting the Max Air I got from Manny.
Had it sent to Rocker1 for a few fixes and after 3 weeks lost in the mail? It arrived.
I can say I'm am pleased with this Gun.
Trigger is very good and does a double tap very well.
I didn't think I'd like the Bull Pup design as much as I do now.

Thinking about shooting the newest addition, the HW30S in 177 or shooting my 22 cal R9.  I could do both but I really want to give just one some attention.  Leaning towards the R9.....  maybe rested and 50 yard attempts for groups.  I haven’t done springer groups at distance for quite some time. 

I really need to start getting permission to hunt the lands down here in the valley for rabbits and squirrels.  On a gray drizzly day like today it’s so beautiful out.  Yes, I said beautiful.  I doesn’t look inventing from sitting inside a cozy house with hot coffee but I really is very peaceful out on days like this.  It’s 49 degrees out, gray, misty sky’s with low clouds and light patches of fog.  The birds are out and it is very peaceful out.

I shot my blue rider bb gun from my rocking chair on the front porch until I ran out of bbs.

Didn’t really “get into” shooting today.  I did set up and shot maybe 6 pellets with the R9 at 50 yards off some sticks.  I was distracted with other things I wanted to do so I packed it up.  Maybe I’ll have a moment tomorrow before I head back into work for another 32 hour shift.

I got a chance to test out the 16gr AA domes I ordered from PA today.  Wow. Just wow.   Laser like accuracy in both my Crosman 1400 and my RIM.  I expect similar results when I run some through my XS60.  I’m stoked!

First, the .22 Parrus that I just received.
It shot surprisingly well, but lots of spring noises when returning the barrel to lockup, and the trigger's second stage is waaay long and non-adjustable.  I could live with the heavy pull weight, but the mystery release really spoils things.

Next, my .177 Parrus as a comparison.  Very accurate, clean cocking stroke and firing cycle, trigger is A-OK as is.  The trigger is lighter, cleaner and has a short, predictable release point.

Last, my NTEC Diana 350 in .22
Much better than the Parrus .22 in every way although it is a bit harder to cock.  And even with really cheap pellets it was firing EXACTLY where the sights were when I pulled the trigger.
If I could hold perfectly, I feel that I could have cut 1 round or slightly oblong hole with it at 9 yards (basement).  As it was I was calling every shot silently to myself, and seeing exactly what I expected as soon as the scope settled. This rifle still only has 150-200 rounds through it.  Future looks good...

FYI, the new Parrus .22 barrel looked pretty bad until I gave it a thorough cleaning.  Whatever they used had dried hard.

I'm thinking the other 98s need to be fired now and then I'll feel fine about the HW98 as the end of it.

Not today but yesterday, took the 853 out for the first time after a rebuild/clean/two stage trigger mod. After some break in shots I put 10 JSB 7.33s across the chrony. High 510fps, low 500fps, not bad. As for the 2 stage trigger, WOW! I now know exactly when it’s going to let off, and it’s lighter too. This all adds to accuracy because now I can focus more on aiming than on trigger control.

Well, I closed out two years of culling the squirrel overpopulation in my area. Via springers and CO2 air rifles (plus one pistol kill), I've eradicated 205 squirrels since 1/3/19. So, that's 205 kills in 24 months. I do believe my pest problem is solved.

During that time, I've read or watched your posts and videos and learned a tremendous lot about air guns. Thanks for a great two years as part of the GTA family.

Now, as I shift from pest control to plinking more often, I hope to continue growing in the marvelous hobby. Eventually, I want to tame the harsher cycle of my HW95, plus replace the trigger on my Crosman Nitro Venom.  I need to learn how to maintain my growing assortment of CO2 pistols and rifles, plus replace seals.

Perhaps there will be a PCP in my future but shooting springers (well, mine anyway) are just too easy.

During that time, I've read or watched your posts and videos and learned a tremendous lot about air guns. Thanks for a great two years as part of the GTA family.

Now, as I shift from pest control to plinking more often, I hope to continue growing in the marvelous hobby. Eventually, I want to tame the harsher cycle of my HW95, plus replace the trigger on my Crosman Nitro Venom.  I need to learn how to maintain my growing assortment of CO2 pistols and rifles, plus replace seals.

Perhaps there will be a PCP in my future but shooting springers (well, mine anyway) are just too easy.

That’s great!  Say goodbye to the 🐿.  Ha ha! 

If you want to tame the 95, you could cut some of the spring coils to tune it down some.  I do that to all (3) of mine and it makes it a much nicer overall experience.  I bring them down to the 12-13 ft lb power level.  I never missed that extra 2-3 ft lb of energy and I never missed that extra jump, thunk, boing either.
