THE RAIN HAS STOPPED!!! Blue sky and light breeze and I am off work today. Think there is going to be a lot of shooting. Starting out with the QB-58
Now that's a nice range! Jealous of you guys with ranges like this! lol

Figured I needed a workout 🏋️♀️ in the shooting dept. tonight was spring gun night. I grabbed the HWR95.177 and the HW97K. I had been plagued with some inconsistencies with the 95. Swapped to a different pellet and problem disappeared. I guess the inconsistency was the ammo not the gun? Weird. After the ammo change it was spot on. HW97K is ALWAYS spot on. I love these rifles! What pellet did you shoot with that was bad and what did you change to?This is odd Jorgen. This rifle has always shot the Air Arms 8.4 pellets the best. For years. It all of a sudden started throwing pellets out, mostly verticle stringing. I ended up replacing the piston seal, breech seal and doing a cleanup and reseal. I had tried swapping to a new tin of pellets. All the pellets were bought at the same time and place (I believe but not 100% sure on that one). I had also swapped out to a different scope. Tried everything pretty much with a little improvement but never as reliably accurate as it had been. I was bummed. Anyway, I was shooting it last night and making adjustments to the scope to bring it to zero at 25 yards. I was seeing some good shots but then others being off. Finally I just bagged the AA 8.4s and threw some Falcons through it. Wow, what a difference. All of the pellets started touching and making that well used phrase “one ragged hole”. I shot those for the rest of the time with that gun. So, I went from Air Arms 8.4 to the Falcon 7.3 pellets with good results.

had some fun with the 2400KT...
I had 2 targets today. 1 squirrel and 1 chipmunk.Out of 3 shots, I missed them both. I think playing with the clamp-on "velocity meter" may have changed my POI. Yeah, that's my excuse and I am sticking to it! (sigh)The Squirrel was the one I have missed so many times I hate to admit it. The Chipmunk, I got off 2 shots and completely missed on both counts before he scurried out of my kill zone.Oh well, going to check zero again tonight or tomorrow at 25 yards...It HAS to be the zero/POI change, RIGHT? It can't just be ME?!?!? (grin)
I've been awake for far too long, but I am checking my "kill zones" until I can't see and then I am going to bed...There is at least one Chipmunk and one VERY lucky Squirrel who have pellets with their names on them. (grin)

(grin)Hang in there, Kerry. You'll get that cunning little varmint soon enough. More importantly, you've got a PCP shooting platform that can reach out quite a ways to "retire" that pest.Have fun and be safe,Archie

I WOULD feel better if I missed at say 40 or 50 yards, but I have missed this lucky Squirrel about 15 times at ~25 yards. And then, I can't even claim the zero was off. I checked it and hit a golf ball, TWICE at that same range. So, it was just me. However, today and tomorrow are "another day". (grin)Thanks again Archie!
