Quote from: bReTt on June 17, 2019, 02:26:19 AMI shot the RS78, PP700SA and the Streamline. I tried my hand at some 100 yard targets with the SL. I didn’t do terrible but not great either. It was fun though. I also picked off 2 rabbits. I was going for my first time to harvest and prep some rabbit to cook. I’m no expert but from what I’ve watched and read, white spots on the liver isn’t good. They had large white spots on them so I didn’t take a chance and discarded them. Bummer. I have an abundance of rabbits on and around my property. I don't shoot them because I don't consider them varmints... for now. Of course, as their numbers grow larger and larger,I might have to start taking them out as they may encourage Coyotes and other far worse varmints to come into play.Tularemia, is the disease you are referring to. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tularemia

Not the same. The white spots were larger spots (1/8”) and 4-5 spots vs the smaller, multiple spots. Like I said, I’m no expert but I don’t think it’s tularemia comparing images BUT, I wasn’t going to take that chance without KNOWING for sure. My wife says, “when in doubt, throw it out”. I followed that wisdom and did just that. I didn’t consider rabbits to be a pest until this year when, over this past winter, they chewed our newly planted blueberry plants down to twigs and stripped the bark off of some newly planted fruit trees. We also did spring cleanup and found a lot of the trees and bushes had been stripped of the bark down low. I like seeing the wildlife but I’d didn’t like seeing the damage they created. We caged the trees and blueberries. The blueberry plants have come back but two of the fruit trees are dead/dying. One apricot and one pear. Two of the apple trees are starting to turn also. So frustrating. Anyway, all three of those rabbits that have been terminated didn’t even as flinch when hit with the 30fpe .22 pellet. They just went instantly limp. I have watched many videos of animals being taken with pellets and there is usually some sort of “death dance”. I will say that all three had perfectly placed shots on them with complete pass through. Just as a side note, I prefer to shoot non-living targets. I don’t feel good about taking life. That’s just me.
I've learned to apply the 3S rule.
Shoot, shovel and shutup....
