Hey Loren, where did you get all the fittings for the drain valve?
You guys that are using activated charcoal, would you mind sharing a link for one you like? Thanks!
Thank you humdinger! I'm thinking of using it in my first gold filter, same as loren. Does everyone still feel like their gold filters are doing a decent job of keeping out moisture?
I built a similar configuration for my Shoebox outlet. I am going to remote connect the trap and alpha filter because the weight is twisting the fitting in the vertical aluminum block.Taso
Hey Bill,The filter is a Joe Brancato "Alpha" filter that I bought used off the GTA classifieds. The various fittings were purchased for Nothshore compressor Taso
Back with another update. After another 12 hours of run time on the Shoebox and the media, (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1oygaCsqJRjNGGTpXGPIYnAU1ZkyqWbBh5Tz7ODzHb24/edit?usp=drivesdk) it's time for another media rechargeOpened the filter case up and the paper filter on the input side shows the same circle of discoloration matching the cap's opening. The paper is dry, no sign of water anywhere. The material is still in good shape. The O rings show signs of compression. The paper on the other end seems to be cleaner and in the same excellent dry condition.I zeroed the scale for the beaker and poured in the beads. Again, no sign of any water or discoloration. The media weighs .170lbs.Into the toaster oven at 450 to 500F for 50 minutes. After cooling, the scale was zeroed for the beaker again and the material carefully poured back into the beaker, capturing every bead. Post drying the media weighed .160lbs. So the difference in the pre and post drying weights is less this time, but there is still a measurable difference along the lines of what I saw with the last test. The inside of the gold filter is pristine, no signs of any degradation of any kind.I put it all back together and back on the system. Ready to go for another 12 hours (or perhaps a bit longer next time).
Short answer..yes.. Unless you try and dry the air before it gets to your compressor.Lots of reading still...here's another for ya.Well I do need a filter
The gold filter arrived yesterday. The quick connect is brass. Has anyone used this connector for high pressure?
