I am not sure if it will work but you should put a filter after so any dust doesn't get into your rifles.

But can someone tell me why is the PVC and o-rings necessary? I'm not sure I understand the logic of this addition.
Is it a fear of the zeolite being corrosive to the aluminum housing?

Oops! Yes you're right. Sorry about that. I got mixed up with all the different desiccants I was looking at. I like these because they don't have the dust.

I have not seen anyone using silica gel in the high side filters.  But I've never heard anyone say you can't use it.  I think it's because
 molecular sieve absorbs more moisture by weight.

I am curious if it can handle the 4500 psi pressure?

I do not know.

I went ahead and ordered the molecular sieve also. I'll use the Silica as an indicator with the sieve. I think that's what the Diablo has in theirs? (Not sure) But the video I saw the sieve had blue beads in the diablo as well.

Just did my filter this week.

Used one of my wife's heavier duty paper cutters and trimmed a Vinyl cutting board with a 1/16 inch overlap and full length from cap to cap. Push it out, insert a 2" long section of the cotton and push it to the bottom. Then push the whole back out so the amount left sticking out of the filter body equals the 2" cotton filter for that end. This removes the guess work as fas as how much of the Blue Descant Sieve beads to pour in, then tucked in the cotton filter, push the whole thing in the rest of the way and capped it off.

Worked out awesome!

Only issue is the amount of time to pressurize the whole system since that filter adds a bit of space!

Filled a 13ci tank and my BullBoss to 3K with breaks between the two, then brought one of my 50ci tanks from 0 to 3k.

Having a hard time bringing the 50ci tank up to 4500psi due to fear. LOL Still feel like that filter is going to explode! LOL Ordered a Gold one off AliExpress that uses 2 screw drivers to open with long Fine threads like everyone else but received a gold filter with 5/8" of course threads. The pictures of the Fine thread caps look close to double that.

Something I am adding to my gold filters is a bronze wool pad placed in the entry/intake end of the filter before a 1 inch length of the OEM white filter then the molecular sieve material then another 1 inch length of the OEM white filter before the end cap.  I am then adding a Tee fitting with a bleed valve on the entry/intake end to bleed off water that collects in the bronze wool.  Hopefully this will reduce the workload on the molecular sieve material and allow getting water out of the system without disassembly as often.

Drilling it yourself and putting a delrin washer ?

Piecing it together with a Street Tee fitting with a male and female foster fittings and the bleed valve.  Using 1/8" NPT Tee and foster fittings.

Build it and the just plug inline with the hose from the compressor to the filter.  Easier than trying to match up to the metric thread on the filter.
Still waiting on the parts to arrive to build the bleed valve tee.

I wonder also if bleeding on the compressor side will achieve similar in that air will bleed from the scuba tank backwards through the high pressure filter.

I learned without a backflow check valve in the system near the tank, it is a good idea to close the tank valve before bleeding or I lose a lot of pressure out of the tank.  I am counting on the volume in the filter and line to purge any water out of the bleed valve.

Just read the last few posts and here are some observations:
1) No PVC inner tube and my system is holding up just fine. Zeolite does not produce any acid deposits and most acids do not attack aluminum ....so I see no need for it.
2) Silica gel can withstand 4500psi but does not absorb as much water as Zeolite, plus silica gel is slower at absorbing.  I have about a teaspoon of color changing silica gel mixed in with my zeolite, simply as a moisture indicator.
3) An inch or so of tampon-type filter media is necessary after the Zeolite to mitigate any dust going into the tank.
4) Bleeding the low-side of the compressor during filling, does reduce condensate being passed on. I get about a tablespoon  of condensate taking a tank from 3000psi to 4500psi  ...I have an auto-bleed valve for this.
5) The "Brillo pad" type stuff before the molecular sieve is a good idea and helps keep a lot of condensate at the bottom of the pile keeping the bulk of it away from the Zeolite. Effectively, a coalescing filter. My  "Brillo pad" is in a small pre-filter before my big gold filter.
6) After refilling the tank, I shut off the tank's valve, open the "high-side" and "low-side cocks on the compressor to depressurize the system and causes blow-back of any condensate accumulated in the filter and allow the compressor to cool-down a couple minutes, before I shut off the compressor.

Anyone consider trying to isolate the gold filter so when you bleed the system you don't lose the air pressure that's already in it?
I'm thinking it waste so much time filling multiple guns and tanks when you need to repressurize the entire filter.

I'm thinking about installing ball valves on both sides of the gold filter. that way I can bleed the gun and bleed the compressor separately.

Anyone have ideas on a good source for ball valves, and additional bleeders?
