Thanks for confirming Scott - that's what I figured but wanted to double check. In general I want a stock as light as possible but didn't want to risk "lesser" mechanical components (not that I've heard that on the mutants). in fact, I haven't even laid hands on one of the mutants but I know the crickets have a reputation for solid reliability (long term). It's great that so many folks have tried and enjoyed the mutant.

We both feel the Mutants the better of the two.My son would have one too except he has the .22 Cricket carbine also and likes to share magazines between them.
i think im the only person to never once have crosman premiers group in any gun ive EVER had..
Quote from: mr.grimm on August 04, 2016, 04:01:40 PMCan we see some groups please?Had a chance today getting some pellets on paper. When starting had 6 shots left of JSB 15.9s and those were shot at target center bulls eye ... Not too shabby grabbed the second mag realizing it was loaded with CPHP's ... Lowered the POA to 6'clock and emptied all 12 making an @ sub dime size hole ... not too shabby Yup that's at 50 yards folks !!
Can we see some groups please?
Scott, what kind of coating did you use for the grip areas, and how did you apply it? I need to do something for my AT44 synthetic stocks which are difficult to grip when it's cold.

Any application tips?
I know you didn't ask me but...I didn't want to modify the stock in permanent manner, so I used some rubber grip tape to obtain texture, and to cover the cheek area on the breech:Cut to shape/size and stick it on. Mine's been on through 95F to 14F without budging, and I think it does a great job of providing non-tacky grip surface and face insulator.
Just wanted to see some targets.

Since the wildcat is your first high end airgun am I right? In assuming you haven't shot an Airgun with a CZ barrel there different than powder burner barrels. I can consistently shoot birds off the top of a wind machine 80yds away from my house EVERY single time with no "warm up shots" how about dove at 115yds? Shot 2 in 2 shots. The Mutants are known for accuracy PLAIN and SIMPLE. Most of us who have owned a bunch of pellet guns and also a mutant has the mutant as the one that they compare all others to for accuracy. Im glad your gun is accurate have fun with the FX and all the issues likely to come up with it!Nah, it's not my first high end airgun. And I am not bashing anyones gun. Im simply saying that all these guns are so accurate that it would be hard to call one more accurate than the other. The CZ hammer forged barrel: I am applying this to rimfire powder burners only. I have seen complaints of first shot fliers time and time again. It's not just an isolated case. An airgun is a different animal. The CZ barrel may well be an excellent barrel for an airgun. I do not know.I'm asking questions and making comments because I have a general interest in the Tiapan Mutant. It does indeed appear to be a nice airgun that gets great reviews. Just wanted to see some targets.
