I got one last night. Well early this AM. 3 am to be exact. I was up with momma and took a gander and a fat one was sitting proud I. The feed troth... The 2200 bolled him over!  But the bugger crawled into a hole before I got out there !!! GRRR

A head shot from 15 yards really mess up a rats head.
Pellet was Hunter Extreme .25

Funny story about this guy. I have my station set up now so they have to either climb up onto the bait station or get snapped in a trap on the other three sides. This guy was sitting on the edge of my bait station when I took a quick shot. I pulled the shot and this guy fell backwards (I assume I scared him or something) and fell into one of the traps. Not sure this counts as a kill...

Yep,... what the heck,.... you fired , it's dead.
 It still counts !

Ok. I want to know who taught a rat to survey the perimeter and avoid the dingers. This little mo fo has learned to go BEHIND the dingers! I am chating with my breaux on Skype and out of the corner of my eye I see a blur of motion. Rat done went behind the dinger and grabbed some food and left before you can say ANYTHING!!


Oh, and the black rat has not returned so I must have hit him. To bad so sad. Die you little vermon.


I got the I.F.A.R.T survealance system up and running again tonight to see what they are doing while I am snoring. Vacation again starting Wednesday so something will die soon.

A day before my 45th and I finally lost my virginity......ratting virginity that is. 


A Umarex Surge .177 caliber rifle delivered a Crosman Premier Ultra Magnum 10.5 gr. Dome at approximately (guess-teh-ment) 700fps for a distance of 30' ending it's flight behind the left shoulder of this particular spawn of satan. Thus sending him back to whence he came.

Been baiting for a week now trying everything. Peanut Butter, nothin'....Bread crumbs, nada, cheese of all kinds, zilch! (seems the rats are smarter than humans and turned away from the processed poop we call food.)
I even tried the secret of Team Wild, that group of guys from across the pond.....vegetable oil and Nutella!  Nopers, not even an investigative lick!!

But! In a stroke of absolute genius (eh, desperation really) I pulled out some regular ol' bird feed.  Yeppers, you read that right.  Plain ol' bird feed.....I dropped some on the ground here and there and good grief! They came out for that stuff...specifically the sunflower seeds.
That stuff wasn't even out 5-7 minutes before I started seeing the little noses poking out here and there from the wood pile.

This particular fella the unfortunate mistake of crawling out on top of the wood pile trying to make his way to a cross member on my fence and behind a stack of wood....he almost made it. 

What I find interesting is the blood coming from his ears....has this ever happened to anyone else?  What could be the cause of this?


Guess I have to add Rats:1 to my signature now!

I'm not sure what causes it Gtownjake. I have had it happen a couple times on critter's I've shot.
