We set them up out at our Bait station and the donger/receiver is in the house.
you can see the transmitter/motion sensor here with a pile of spaghetti

When an I.F.A.R.T. "target" approaches,... the dongers starts singing our favorite song, ... and we jump into action.

( except when they poop on your shooting bench,.... Then we just use grenades

OK ,
Lets see if we can do a little better tonight. The Bait station is all cleared of any old baits, and I have set out some "new stuff".
Tonight's menu is:
A week old pork chop, in a open topped container, so they've gotta stand up to get it. That should slow them down a bit.
Then I smeared 2 nice spoonfuls of PB on top, and drizzled this mornings bacon grease all over it.
next,
Threw some fresh dog kibble on the Bait Station deck, dribbled more bacon grease on the wood, and smeared it all around with a stiff cheese biscuit...

Cameron's Black Widow is pressure checked, mag is in the breech, and the "Dessert Delivery Device" is chambered and ready.
just waitin' on that song now.

I don't know if you guys know this.
When you put out food a rat hasn't had before, it does an edibility test.
Reason? The can't regurgitate their food.
So instead of eating a whole bunch of food they can get sick from, they just take a tiny piece.
Then they wait for up to a week before they decide to eat it.
Think about that when you put out new food.

Critters know your scent wear un powdered latex or nitrile gloves when handling the bait otherwise smells like human/danger

Well well well, the mo fo rat who dropped doo on my chooting bench got what was coming to him!!! Woke up around 0415 and eased out to the cave and low and behold, mr taunting rat had his head stuck in the trap but was not dead, just flopping around with the trap stuck to his nose. He he he, now its my turn VARMIT!!

Grabbed the trusty Benjamin Franklin pump pistol and loaded up a Preditor. Assassinated him with a shot to the back of the head!

Now I have a mess to clean up.....

Lesson #1: do not drop doo on the masters chooting bench!!!

Ya know, in my area they call that an execution style killing. Carries more time in jail if it was a human. Gets you more respect on here because it was a stinking RAT! Kudos!

This totally explains why nothing has worked for me except for the bird feed (see post above page 13) that I have always put out but you know, for the birds. Had no idea the little rats were eating the seeds too.
