Aircudas long term field testing

I made the "mistake" of having some pictures open of the Aircuda when Sonja got home last night.  Gut feeling tells me we'll be ponying up for another PCP soon.  Golly-gee darn, the perils of having a wife who enjoys airguns as much as I do. 

Don't worry - there will be something else yet again, new and shiny, by year's end to restart the adoration.

The standard is the better looker with that sleek Monte Carlo stock. I would like to see an adjustable cheek riser, I know it's on the Max, but I prefer a Monte Carlo stock.

I know the standard is the one meant for field carry but how awkward would it be to carry the max if I'm hunting less than half the time?

You know I feel like at the moment you are testing these two rifles for me right. LOL Can you post up a comparison of the two size wise and feel to the Disco. I know you have one at in your stash and so do most of us. (well me anyway)
The MAX is sizewise like the majority of PCP and probably lighter then most so it's just fine, the Standard is just lighter and slimmer

I used to have a Disco and it's harder to have a smaller PCP but I think the forehand of the standard is slimmer and it's definitely longer and that make it feel much nicer

So far I'm pretty impressed by this 2 guns, .....I will spend as much time as I have shooting away ( wish I could find my bore cleaner but I just remember I have a box of .25 cleaning pellets so today I put a few of those through the barrel )
at my limited 17 yards range even the Benjamin pellets are flying into a tiny hole, hopefully I find a way to stretch at least to 35 ....need to get creative

I was going to get a scale from work yesterday to weight the guns scoped and all but I forgot, I'll get it on Friday.

I didn't handle the other low price guns offerings but both of these 2 I have in my hands definitely feel quality,......the MAX feels and looks way above the 420 bucks asking price, I'm sure shot strings will start pouring in I'm working a lot this week and surf is great ......but will try get shots strings as soon as I can

I was just thinking,...now I'm super curious about what they will come out with on the bigger bores ( I think something was mentioned about that )

Travis has been tuning guns for a long time so he should be able to implement changes/tweeks pretty fast if needed.
 Many years back I suggested to Mr Lee at Evanix to hire Will Piatt as a consultant to tweek and improve guns because professional tuners really get into the details and can make guns much better from the get go,.....he never listened to me

Wife has claimed a few of of them as “hers” over the years...at which point I become the maintenance man and am sure to ask before I borrow one of hers.

It’s worth it...been a pretty good/happy 43 years of marriage without any griping about the airguns cluttering up the hose.

Been some years back, when I posted a lot more on a lot more places, and got sent a test rifle….and it kind of tempered my opinions.  Evidently not tempering enough for the sender.

Even in limited circumstances, were real long range time is more rare, can at least weed out the “hopeless” pellets from the “possible” pellets….do the chronographing and adjusting… shot counts….measure/judge sound signature… trigger pull...etc.

When you do get your long-range visits, saves time and effort not to have to deal with the “hopeless” pellets, maladjusted rifles, or unexpectedly over-running the shot count.

OK so I put a scope on her and using low rings I was able to get it as low as a scope can possibly go and it's perfect with the comb, feels great.

I started the zeroing in process, started with the Transfer port all the way to minimum for the first few shots then maxed it out, you can tell the adjustment works and power is definitely much different.


Even fully open it's pretty quiet and the ping isn't to bad either.

Trigger,.....I think even trigger snobs will be very happy, it's almost to light for me

Magazine works great, loads nicely and feels solid.

Sidelever is smooth and operates good.

Not a fan of Safeties inside the trigger guard but I just don't use it and it's out of the way.

I'm starting with the Benjamin pellets and as you can see in the picture I have a bunch of ammo to test.


Cannot find my Mac-1 bore rope ( my stuff is packed all over the place and I have no Idea where it could be ) so for now I'm shooting on a dirty barrel.

.....the rifles are 41" long so a very nice in between size and even with the scope the standard is extremely light.

 Curious to how the Nielsens and the domed pellets performed.
 What caliber is your test gun?

So I changed the scope on the Cuda Standard, the 2-7 didn't work for me at short ranges.


I found a 3-9x32 with AO that is actually even lighter, it fits perfectly.

I also found some cleaning pellets, of course not as good as a pull through but they have to do for now, so I soaked a few with Ballistol and shot a bunch through the gun.

Nice, the  25 is what I'm interested in Nomadic Pirate. It's sounding almost to good to be true at that price point. Lol. Looking forward to the chronos and pellet weights for sure.

Yeah so far what I can see is that you get quite the BANG for the buck.

next up will be chrono strings, but first I'll concentrate on the Cuda Standard
