New Marauder with Walnut Stock...just got one in!!!

Thank-you, that does not seem to be 1lb heavier than the original wood stock.  Have to go find the numbers I recorded. 

I will still try to get one from crosman parts this fall. 

With scope installed is the balance point still the gauge?

Thanks. Definitely looks nicer and darker than my Cayden's Walnut. I bet there will be some people that want the never stocks. Hopefully Crosman makes them available. I also think it would be smart if Crosman sold an aftermarket Walnut bullpup stock, though I never see that happening since it would cannibalize on their Akela sales.

I just got my 1st M-rod a couple weeks back and I have that stock also. I wasn't impressed with the finish. I hand sanded with 320 grit, then laid down 3 coats of poly; sanding between each goat. Then I used 0000 steel wool, wood wax and buffed my forearms off. It didn't achieve the high sheen I was working for but the entire stock is smooth as butter now. I'll post pics later.

That stock is definitely a step up for the Marauder!  I do hope Crosman Parts will get some and sell them in the near future.

Thanks. I do feel like i lucked out. I suppose since my Cayden is a lighter Walnut that I was due some good luck on this one. Really glad I got the rifle. Beautiful and shoots well. Haven't done any long distance stuff, but I will check that out sometime this next week.

Paul,  I highly suspect that by the fall you can talk a crosman Customer Service rep out of the part number.

If you guys figure out the part number please let me know. That new stock looks great compared to the older style plus if a guy did want to make it nicer with some tru oil it would take better than their current ones. Now the question is how much will Crosman be charging for one?

I would suggest stripping the Cayden, then applying ferric nitrate and heating, then start the layers of oil. It will darken up nicely. If you decide to do this, I have a large!supply of ferric nitrate crystals, just mix with distilled water.

My Kral come out pretty good using this method, just can't sand too deep between layers or you'll be sanding the stain.

The new stock looks better than the old factory stock for sure , I like  the boyds blaster stock or varmint thumbhole ... I had Norm of disco's R us  cut the inlet on my boyds blaster stock - royal jacaranda laminate some years back  for the gen 1 .25 I still have , that stock fits the action  like a glove , Richards micro fit makes one similar that I have on my XP .40 badger called the " Tac Driver " , and that one  has the best shape - fit , and feel I think ....

Boyds does have that Varmint thumbhole stock for the mrod in forest camo , that 1 looks pretty cool ...

The fall came early.   I ordered one from PA.  When available from crosman, it may be a few dollars less, but not by allot.  Said it was the last, hopefully the stock count was correct.
