Opened up my new .25 Marauder, happy Father's Day to me, and yippee got a nice surprise. I got the new Turkish Walnut stock!

Yes, it is, and has a lot of grip to it so it functions just as it should. It is not checkered, however.

The specs suggest that it is a lb heavier than the wood Mrod. Can you get an actual weight of yours and the stock?

I really wish you could buy stuff like this with an unfinished stock... That on has some nice patterns and I better it would look even better with a higher gloss level from say a bunch of truoil coats and some finish sanding.

Being a wood guy I like deep, contrasting patterns. It would be very easy to get this stock to shine with some tru-oil or linseed oil (samething). It would take stripping it first and then 20 light coats or so.

I don't seem to like glossy walnut on a matte action.

Glossy looks great on deeply-blued classic rifles though.

Wow, what a nice surprise! Happy Birthday/Anniversary/Father's Day! I'm surprised those are shipping with the new stock already. I wonder when Crosman Parts will have them available for purchase, I'd like to put one on my Gen 2 Mrod! Congrats on the nice looking rifle!

Good heavens, if that’s how a Mrod would have looked years ago, I would have bought one. Hope you get it shooting as good as it looks and enjoy the heck out of it. You’re not alone on liking wood stocks on guns. Some of my buddies say they are too hard on their guns to have a wood stock. I just tell them a beat up wood stock is still prettier than a perfect plastic one.
