I just finished cutting the grass and some other yard work.
Now I have to go to my part time job for a few hours.
After that my wife and I have a wedding to go to.

Mawnin Ya'll.  I'm late field ranger at the park today.  Probably the toughest shift cause it starts in the heat of the day.

It don't get easier but it does get over.

Mail run this morning, garden chores are done. I had to clean the carburetor on the outboard yesterday, so the boat is ready to go. Working on setting up the metal gate art work for a previous customer, I lucked out with the printer not running out of ink while printing the pattern out to make the cuts. When completed it will be 60" tall and 37" wide and will fit in side the frame of the gate. It's to hot to grind and weld outside, also I don't want to set the yard on fire as dry as it is around here. I will be glad when the cooler weather gets hear.

Continuing with the LumberJack and Jill project. I'm working without Jill this morning.. she decided to do some projects of her own. She's painting and trimming out the front door among other things.  Betty Lou loves to paint and once she gets going she wants to paint everything she sees.

I got up and got right after it. I cleaned up my backyard, mostly pine needles that the storm knocked out of the tree. I had recently done it and it was just as bad again after the storm. There were 4 bird nest knocked down too including one that was a HUGE nest and three average size nests. I was expecting my CT90 wiring harness to be delivered but now the tracking says expected delivery tomorrow.    I ordered it on the 12th and it wasn't sent out until the 22nd. I was really hopping to install it this afternoon, tomorrow is supposed to be 10° hotter.


 I came back inside after the clean up and saw that most of my coffee was still in my cup, how in the world did that happen, LOL.


 Oh well, it is 84.7°F and 35% humidity right now so I am going to go back outside and putter around with the CT90 project and make sure all I need to do after I install the wire harness is kick the kick starter for the first time. I have an OIL tag on the key ring so I don't forget to fill it up first.

 I know they don't bite but, they go for my ears, eyes, and face and drive me crazy.

Good morning GTA! Happy Friday! We made it! Yesterday was brutal. I went to bed early, about 2030 and slept in until 0450. Nothing planned for today other than visit my chiropractor at 0715. I’ll need to call the office about 0800 to see if there’s anything for me to do. I need to go through all the boxes on my van and put all the truck stock parts on the shelves, still. It’s just been too hot and we’ve been too busy all week. Today should be the last really hot day.

Got up at 4:30 and took care of the dogs. Betty Lou must have already been up and gone to bed because the coffee was on. I downed a 20oz and headed out to beat the heat. I got one of the downed trees limbed and logged and loaded into the trailer. The branches got tossed over the fence. I have one more tree on the ground before I take down a few more. I'm getting close to being done with the low hanging fruit. They are beginning to require a little more precision felling so not to cause damage to buildings or create widow makers/leaners.
As hot as it is, I'm enjoying the work and challenge.

 Not scheduled to cook at the Lodge nor the Golf course all weekend! 
 Only plans are to get up on the roof early Saturday and install the new Star-Link.
Been too hot after work every day this week with the record-breaking temps and humidity giving Indiana a heat index in the triple digits.

10 am.. quittin' time. I even tried dragging a tree to a shaded area with the Kodiak but it's still too hot and humid. The plan is to enjoys this newly reclaimed area, not die from creating it. 
On the bright side, I did take the saw into the air conditioned Red Shed and sharpen the chain. I've never done this before so I watched a couple vids on it. I took it for a test run and it cuts like butter again.
At this point I've caught up with the trees I cut down. Tomorrow I can drop a new batch.

Awake 0600.  Outta bed 0730.  Coffee.  Surf.  Listen to the rain.  Pick up tools left outside 'cause it wasn't predicted to rain.  Trying to find some motivation.  Last shift at work this afternoon.  Taking tomorrow off.  Flying to San Francisco Sunday morning with my wife and 18 yo daughter.  We'll do the regular tourist stuff, hit a few familiar spots, check out Sausalito and do some fancy dinners while we are there. 

Later today I'll go play pool with pops and then do the work thing.

Up early this morning, the ouch alarm went off and no since in laying there in agony.  Garbage to the curb, mail run, platelet donation, pick up chicken feed, fuel up one vehicle, the other will get done when I go fill up gas cans and top off my propane tanks. Unload 450lbs. of chicken feed. The zoo is good to go for the next few weeks. Waiting for it to cool off to unload the feed.

Let me know how you like starlink. We've been thinking about going with it as it's about the only option besides hughs net which is.... We haven't had home Internet in over 3 years. We've just been using our phones and it's getting old!😡

Yep, the "panic" has begun around here. The panic buying was already starting tonight. So much for grocery shopping next week. I am good on supplies for now, just need to trim up some stuff and tie the rest down in the yard. It's been 5 years since Michael, a lot of people that never been through one have moved here and are already freaking out. I am not taking this one very lightly because it's in the same place where Michael started. No matter what category it becomes it is going to make a mess around here one way or another. If stays east of this area it won't be so bad. If it comes straight on or west of this area, there is going to be some serious drama for sure. I am hoping the cold front gets here to push it off to the east, unfortunately another part of the state will take the beating.

I hope so to, you just never know what these storms will turn into once they get in the gulf. It's the hurry up and wait game right now.

Did get some rain last night so that has cooled it down a bit. Finish prepping for the storm on the agenda today, then is wait and watch to see what it does.

Mornin Y'all.  I'm taking a mental health day today.  For some reason the boss scheduled 5 of us for late field duty (2 FTE, 2 OPS, and 1 volunteer).  With that many staff on duty I don't feel any shame taking a day off.  We're pretty much always ready for a Hurricane here seeing as the memsahib and I are both obsessive compulsive preppers.  We'll spend the day packing outdoor stuff into the sheds,  battening down the hatches, and watching the weather.

Good morning GTA! Happy Saturday! I was whooped last night and slept in until 0700, started the coffee and slipped back into bed. I fell back to sleep until 1030 when my wife woke me up. I’m having coffee and don’t have any real plans. The grass is mostly burnt up, but the line trimming needed done, but it’s too hot now. I think I’m going to take a mental health day too.
