My right shoulder is jacked from falling down a flight of wooden stairs backwards 2 years ago.
 Last night we had friends over and played "Left, Right, Center" I reached for the dice and my shoulder went "CRACK"... I winced, but kept playing.
  Friends were like "what the heck just happened here?!"
I put the friends wife's hand on my shoulder and gave it a twirl. She immediately freaked out and I said "that's a soft one... The bad ones are what you heard"

The Doctor said I should be off work for 6 months, but at 2 months I insisted to be released for full duty. Sitting around or laying around is something I don't do well at for very long.[/size]

I can relate. When I snapped my leg tendon and laid in my recliner for a month during Summer which is my busiest time of year I never felt more useless in my life like the hair on a gnat's caboose.

Afternoon y'all!  Pain meds make you sleep.  It sounds like we are all a bunch of adventurous types!

I was a club racer in the eighties.  Flat trackers, Box stock and unlimited super sport.  We called it the steel toe wars.  Had my share of getoffs.  Then I discovered down hill mountain biking!  I would race anything with two wheels.  I tossed an XR500 off a cliff at Hemet and got life flighted.  The memsahib threatened to burn every bike in the garage after that one.  Now I sound like some one breaking a bundle of twigs whenever I stand up!

I still have a 1983 XR500R that I made street legal. I've had it since the early 90s. It was the first bike to introduce me to the over the handle bar club. Was chasing a Jack rabbit across the desert out near Barstow in Socal high desert. That thing knew just how to get me off it's trail. I lead me across a wash with about 1 foot high vertical embankments. The stock rear shock wasn't very sofistocated back then and wasn't able to control the rear wheel. Over the bars I went probably around 30 some mph.🥴😁 It actually didn't throw me completely over the bars but on top of the bars with the bars beat the snot out of my chest and stomach until the bike and I finally fell over.😒 Ouch!!! I paid for that for a few days.

Good morning GTA! Happy Monday! I got up at 0400, I need to be on the road no later than 0500 to head to the office to swap into my new van. I should be able to down one more cup of coffee and fill up the to-go cup before I head out.

Up at 6:30 after a short nights sleep. I walked the property to look for damage, none seen.

Finally a day off!  I actually had yesterday off but with family over it was more work than relaxing but still a great time.  Slept in today until 8-8:30.  Doing coffee now with Mrs P by my side and soft classical music in the background.  Not going outside today.  The wildfire smoke is bad.  I was hoping to get by without it this year but I guess not.  It's becoming a regular thing around here over the past 5 years. 

Plans for today are to do as little as possible.  Last week was an 80 hour work week with only two nights sleeping at home in my own bed and. 32 hour shift to end it all.  I'm happy to just be at home and be still. 

I have the frame for the metal carport up.  I should get the roof on.  Maybe I'll venture into the smoke.  I also have a radio with touchscreen for the van to install and the backup camera says out for delivery today so I may tear into that.  Then again I may just sit all day and notify work that I'll be taking a vacation day for tomorrow.  😱😎 Right now I'll go navigate another cup of coffee. ☕☕☕

John how you like the new van? Some workers hate getting new vehicles preferring what they're used to where they do nothing but complain about it. My uncle was that way. hehe

I like the new van. It always comes with consequences… sometimes good, sometimes not. Taking everything out and starting over is a pain, but sometimes worth it. The big problem is who or how they put the shelves and ladder racks together. This is the first one I’ve ever had that was put together right and thorough. I think I’m going to like this one a lot. It’s still going to take a bit to put everything on the shelves how I want it. But, I’m going to really try to be organized and get rid of some stuff I haven’t needed for a long time. Our company, the customers and the industry changes. I have tools I hardly ever use anymore.

I notified work that I'm staying home today.  Got out of bed 0800.  Doing some tea right now, too lazy to make coffee and Mrs. P offered tea so that's me.  Smoked cleared out yesterday afternoon so it's clear skies today. 

I'm torn on what I'm doing today.  I have things that I should get done.  I'll basically be here by myself.  I have 4 PB guns that have not been shot since taking possession of them.  I really want to put some bullets through them.  I know the boys would be really disappointed if I went without them but I don't get solo time but a couple times a year and I could run hard and fast with the new weapons and not have to keep everyone else going like when everyone goes.  I'm SO torn on what to do.....

Up at 6;00 and have mowed some already, and my wife is shampooing the carpet so I plan on not tracking anything in, at least until it's dry, LOL.

I have my 0600 meeting and then head into work. Only thing on the board right now is a Tractor Supply that I started yesterday evening. They had 5 rooftop ac units down, I got 3 up yesterday. I need a belt and a fistful of capacitors for each of the other 2. I’m supposed to pick up a trailer and 2 condenser coils later for a job on Thursday.

It was a bit on the warm side around my place too.
Not as bad as the Southern states though.
Yesterday it got up to around 98F to 99F and the heat index with humidity added was around 119 F to 123F.
More of the same today too, ...maybe slightly a little less heat.
We are getting a southern flow of air coming up from the Texas heat dome.
By Saturday the temps are supposed to drop to 70F.
It won't be long until we get a long duration Canadian air flow, then the temps will drop and it will cold.
By mid November it will get Real Cold and stay that way until mid April.
When it gets hot like this, I just think about Winter and count my Summer blessings.

This area has been like that for the last 3 weeks and more on the way through the weekend. It's all I can do to keep the garden and fruit trees alive. This is the worst summer heat wise I have seen since moving here. Drought conditions are becoming critical as well.

Good morning GTA! Happy Thursday! I got up at 0400, I’m getting ready to rollout to work. I’m pulling a trailer with new condenser coils for a couple 12.5 ton rooftop ac units. I didn’t write the job up, they really should have replaced the units. Still, there’s a crane supposed to be there at 0730 and we have a ton of work to do. I hope everyone has a great day.

Just another workday here.

After work I'll be working in the front yard.  The Creeping Thyme needs thinning.  the Citronella got trimmed last week and I've been focused on getting remnants of poison ivy and oak out of the hidden spots.  Sonja's been trying to stay ahead of our small over-achiever fig tree.  We've also been hoping for some rain so we can get ahead of the Spurge sneaking up between pavers front and back.

I have a small mountain of projects on hold until the quonset hut is livable, but our septic contractor has had to delay for a couple months so we've cut back on trips to bi-weekly. So this weeks fun after-work project may be starting work on a vanity for the quonset bathroom.  Baltic birch and an Ikea sink will keep costs down.
