Morning...
Cutting the 7' door in the Red building and moving stuff out yesterday got me in my back pretty good. I slept in the spare room. The extra firm queen bed in there helped alot. Rambo slept on the floor next to the bed and made sure I knew when 5am rolled around.
Wet and cold is the forecast for today. I'll probably give my back a break today and see how long it takes me to get on Betty Lou's nerves. Probably not long.

Mornin y’all.  On my way to the WMA.  Flash wanted to sleep in with mama so it’s just me.  I whittled the guns down to the .22 caliber Hatsan mod 95 and the the .177 caliber Crosman Fire for back up.  Gonna stop for some gas and a biscuit and then it’s forty miles of forestry road to my destination.

This old 3rd rock had gone from a steaming hot jungle to a ball of ice. The sun doesn't have a Thermostat and the land masses are always dancing.

Good morning GTA! Happy Tuesday! Up at 0430 CST. We got a few inches of snow last night, but I don’t think it stuck on the roads. It was a heavy wet snow and I’ve got thin tree branches drooping to the ground, ones I could normally walk under. And under the big trees I can still see the grass, with the temperature still above freezing- it’s just strange. It’s 2 hours to my first job, but I’ll wait til daylight to roll out.

Back from the woods.  Plenty of squirrels this morning but between my poor marksmanship and the amount of leaves still on the trees, I shot none.  Very hard to get a shot with all the clutter in the trees and the two I did try were both misses.  By 10:00 a.m. the rain was coming down pretty steady so I packed it in.  Very glad I brought the Crosman Fire in the synthetic stock with me.  The mod 95 with its wood stock stayed in the truck today.

Flash is up now and has been pestering me to go for a walk since I got home.

I don't remember ever having any luck squirrel hunting in the rain.  In fact, a foggy morning isn't much good either.  At least you saw some - which is more that my experiences.

It was perfect weather for a Scotsman, cool, foggy, drizzly, my favorite!
The squirrels were active until the hard rain began and if I hadn’t been such a klutz I should have shot at least two.

Made a store run for milk and fixins' for chili cheese slaw dogs later and didn't feel too bad in my back when we got back. So I went out to the Red building to access progress. Not too bad. Other than that hot tub, I may be able to get it all in a couple trailer loads to the dump if I pile it high enough.
I did find a couple treasures. A 14" 3 spd floor fan still in the box and plastic. And a 5gal air tank still in the box complete with gauge and hose. So far I found four propane kettle burners, 3 5gal size and 1 10gal size. A truck tool box and a complete set of 8' aluminum truck bed trim along with tie down rails and a set of king cab step boards. It's all the exact same set that is on the GMC that I bought from Killer.

There is a roll and a half of chicken house roll up walls. I will use a section of that for the 7' door I cut in the side to make a roll up door until I decide if I want wood doors.
It has a rod pocket to run a piece of pvc water pipe in and then with a nylon rope and pulleys you just make it a roll up. Last time I made one I used horse shoes at the top and bottom to hook the ends of the pvc for open or closed. It works pretty good and keeps the weather out.

Well, it looks like winter is here. Suppose to go down to 18 tonight. Been in the 20's at night for the last couple of weeks but with the wind it's getting a whole lot 🥶.  Still suppose to get into the 50's tomorrow so at least I won't be freezing when I'm out cutting trees again.

Good morning GTA! Happy Wednesday! Up at 0415 CST. I have my meeting at 0600 hrs and then another 2 hour drive to my first job. I don’t mind the drive, it’s through the mountains (hills) - traffic is light and I get paid the same.

Today is bill paying day. My first SS check hit the bank over night. In preparation for retirement I had paid all the bills a month ahead and I will continue to do so.
Betty Lou is working on a grocery list and we have prescriptions to pick up.
The plan for me after that is to install the vinyl roll up door in the 7' opening I cut in the 24' x 24' Red building behind the house. I spoke to everyone I could think of and nobody wants the hot tub so it will get drained, dismantled and hauled off to the dump along with the rest of the junk we're dragging out of there.
After that is gone I'll get the electric back in the building. I believe it's just a matter of reconnecting to the breaker in the main box on the pole.

It is currently 40°F and is suppose to get to 70°F today. The dogs are running around like pups since they're out in the cool air.

 It amazes me that my Great Dane acts so young since he is already well past the average lifespan of his breed. I don't know his birth date (we got him when he was 8 months old). He turned 9 years old two months ago and looks and acts like he is 1-4 years old when he is outside, he always runs and tries to get our other dog to play.

His only ongoing health issue is that his gut only tolerates the expensive dog food or meat, so he always eats well unless someone that doesn't know slips him a "treat" (usually one of the kids when that happens). He will eat all the butter he can get a hold of, and it doesn't have any ill affects.    LOL.

I plan on getting outside and finding something productive to do and enjoy the weather too.

On the drive home I dodged at least two suicidal squirrels that tried to throw themselves under the wheels of my truck!

I'm working on a complex data conversion.  Complex meaning beyond my knowledge level, but I'll figure it with help from Google and Bing searches.

Otherwise, started some laundry.  I got leaves to mow, a mower and axe to drop off, and some boards to cut into shelving- but not until I get this dad-gummed data squared away.

I trimmed on our large Pine tree that is in our backyard until my hands and arms started cramping. This tree is 3' in diameter at the ground. I was up and down a 10' step ladder a whole bunch, I just want to get it where we have a better view under it, so I am trimming off everything under 13-14' from the ground as far as I can reach. The biggest branches I have trimmed off are 4" diameter, so my 14" electric chainsaw is doing great.

I worked at it for 4 hours so far. It seems like most of my time has been spent moving and positioning the ladder! I am almost done with the trimming and then the clean up will take me 2-3 hours I think.

It's time for a shower before Ch**ch.
