Carter, we have two State Parks close to here. The Rangers always get my utmost respect.I make sure I cook enough on the fire pit so our "hosts" can get some when they make their rounds.
Morning comes at 4 am almost everyday now, no matter how late I stay up. 17 this morning, hopefully the last of it as it will be in the 60s and 70s this weekend.I mysteriously hurt my back last week. Dint lift anything or make a false move that I can remember. Couldn’t sit, stand or lay down, and certainly the transition from one to the other was not good. Not quite kidney stone pain level, but very painful.Needless to say there has been no shooting of any kind since last week. Mostly better now, with the exception of sitting. Crying over.Good weather this weekend and the plan is to get all my turkey hunting gear together. Headed to new turkey hunting land this year. It’s the same place I deer hunt in MN, North and west of Firewalker.It amazes me the comeback these birds have made. As a young one growing up in MN, a wild turkey was like an old wives tale. Now they parade around our deer stands taunting us. The can clearly see me in my stand and don’t care. It’s like they know they are not the quarry. I am sure it won’t be like that on the turkey hunt, or maybe these birds haven’t had much pressure? I will be much more hidden. Tomorrow while the boss is prepping for Easter brunch, I should be able to get some actual out door shooing done, neighbors permitting of course. Started going to the office two days a week, soon to be full time, unless of course #19 puts an end to that.I achieved my goal of shooting my HW95 as accurately as my 30! But that’s because I put a Vortek kit in the 30 which made it a little snappier, and a lot quieter. At 3,500 shots it got really noisy. I have less than a 100 shots through it so far. It will settle in time. That’s all I have for now.

That is crazy Dan... it's warmer here. I was out in the yard barefoot already today.Well, that isn't a good indication because I do that when there is snow on the ground.

I had to move the plants from the patio into the house. We had a freeze warning last night. I saw Captain Jack is warmer 11* warmer but wehave the same predicted high today.
Amazing! I am off on Easter weekend. That hasn’t happened in a while. Today I will take my flatbed trailer and visit a friend who is a bigger hoarder than me. He is a master carpenter who has been saving construction materials for forty years. He is finally letting go of a huge hoard of windows, doors and sidelights. I’m going to grab some of it for my hoard. It will join the old cars, and rusty appliances scattered all over the yard. Just think of it. A giant pile of moldering sliding glass doors right next to my collection of modern era toilets! I’m stoked!
