Buddy, yeah did not do the credit card mod, used small jewellers file and find sand papper to take material of the hammer sear, you know how it goes a little more and then BAM to much. It shoots, just can,t take it of safety without it going off. Mike

Well got two trigger assembly's ordered so going to tear down the guns and fill the stock, fill the BB hole, glue the loading port, polish the crown and paint or do something cammo maybee to the ugly black plastic stock. Has anyone done anything to your stocks yet. Might try beefing up the pump lever some how, the flexing bugs me and I think it would utilize your pumping effort better. Also add a Weaver type rail to stiffen up the receiver a bit. Mike

Seriously though, it would look good in camo.

I thought about attaching a steel rod to the pump handle to stiffen it, but have left it alone so far.
It does have quite a bit of flex on 10 pumps. Have’nt gone past 10 pumps on this one; so don’t know what’s left in the engine so to speak.
Trying to take it a bit easy on this one till all parts are available.

After several days of not having 1977's available to ship, Academy has 'em in stock...apparently
So, I pulled the trigger, so to speak, and ordered one so that I don't have to enter a store to pick one up.
Then they state that curbside pickup is now available...........
Ah,well, the nearest store is 30 miles or so away. Shipping is free...........

This came on the heels of Sam's having toilet paper available on line....for about 3 minutes....ordered that,too!

Now I can contemplate moving the pump from my used Winny over to my 822.....

I'm about sure I'll have the stocks dipped in Realtree camo like the Remington 725VTR. Just remove the butt plate and grip cap from the butt stock first. Have'em mask the forestock grip. I think it'd look 100% better in the Realtree camo just on the stocks.

Remove flat spring for sure.
Then,I'm kinda in favor of shaving a tad off the trigger tab that catches the sear rather than the CC mod...
That way I dunna gotta mess with the safety none.................
And, of course, some polishing....

FINALLY... success... I think!

Did the c/c mod again tonight on the 1977. Used the same thickness card I used before... a auto zone card.
It’s a bear to get the knurled pin back in even with this thin card without the trigger slipping, but about the third try I got it in.
Don’t have a trigger gauge, but guessing 2 3/4 to 3 pound trigger pull. No creep and breaks like glass!!

This is the same card that popped off at ten pumps before, so I did’nt bother working on the safety to get it to work for now. I want to try it awhile as is, and make sure the card stays in place. This may or may not be the best trigger mod for the 1977 with the heavier spring in it... we’ll see.

Oh, I did the bbl. tape mod while I had it down this time too.
Trying the trigger again, it feels more like 2 to 2 1/2 pounds. It’s about the same as on my 880’s, but with a much thinner card.
On hind sight, I believe I could get a thicker card in, but the trigger would probably be a bit hairy for cold weather hunting.

Well, the card stayed put this time. I’ve put a hundred plus rounds since doing the trigger mod.
Velocity is still the same; so no leaking from the valve with the trigger under pressure. I was a bit worried about that with the heavier trigger spring.
Driving nails with daisy flatnose pellets... got to stock up some more on them. Local Academy is out of them right now, so may try to order them shipped or curb pick up.

Don't know what happened but a chrono showed up on my door today. State may be on lockdown, but if the weather improves a smidge, I won't get bored. I got plenty of pumpers to check the speed on.

Have’nt heard anyone else mention this yet, but the 1977 does have a bbl. support, and I noticed the very end of the bbl. had a slight “bell” where it butts up in the end of the shroud.( unless it’s my imagination)... never noticed that on my 880’s... the bell I mean?
Tape mod may not do much for this one.

Found another pellet that shot well in my 1977 last night.
I have a couple tims of daisy pointed pellets that have never shot well in any 177 that I have.
They’re 250 count in the big tins.... but... I had a “small tin” of 250 count daisy pointed that shoot great in this rifle

Is there supposed to be a difference between the small tin pointed daisy’s and the big tins?
Their both 250 count.

Who sells the small tin daisy’s? A member here sent me the small tin to try, but I have’nt seen him active here in quite a while now.

Btw, they’re both made in Spain.

I got a small tin up here at the local Walmart. My results were not as desirable though. I was able to get the flat nose at cabelas but someone else must have read your posts on here because they are all bought up now. They still had some Winchester round nose and hollow points so I bought a tin of the hollow points since they should be the same as the daisies and those worked well for me.
