Platelet donation today, mail run, and dummy me left my wallet at the house in the process. So no shopping today, in fact I had to be careful that I didn't get in a fender bender or get a blue light special. I did have my cell phone. Usually it's the other way around, I leave the phone at home. No big deal, I have stuff coming to HD next week so I will do the shopping then. All but one box of rocks has been delivered. So I will get them sorted out and labeled. I have to clean up a bunch of them in the ultra sound cleaner and some will have to be dumped in the "cactus juice" stabilizer so they don't break on me while cutting and shaping them.

Well I got out of bed.  I went to bed around 0400 and got up about noon. Now I’m surfing the forum and contemplating brunch.  Plans are to exercise the pups and paint.

I paddled at the closest large reservoir, McPhee Reservoir (federal impoundment).

Just got back from the grocery store. What a total PITA!! I couldn't even park in the store parking lot 😡😡. While I was waiting in the check out line I seen a tourist do something I thought I would see. He took a picture of the lottery machine front! 🤔😂😂 WTH!!! The street had so many cars and RVs driving past it took 5 minutes before I could cross and that was only after one driver felt sorry for me and stopped.

LOL... Betty Lou found that on FacePlant so I had to search on You Rube and post it here. It's kinda personal because when we lived at Miss Turners place in town our property backed up to Mr. George's cow pasture. Betty Lou had Rambo out for a walk and he touched the electric fence with his nose and had exactly the same reaction. Cows don't laugh quite like donkeys though.

Last hunk of plywood is cut, notched and in place on the floor of the shop. I just need to screw it down and that job is done.
Something I realized... Before I retired I actually got paid Holidays off work.. those days are nonexistent now.

Yep, I know what you mean. Most of the time I had to work over on holidays and would end up with a delayed holiday and comp time.

Truth?  I monitored the picnic areas, parking lots, and the beach.  I probably prevented a smash-and-grab in the parking lot by giving some trash the stink eye and then following them around until they got tired of my ugly face and left the park.  I emptied a lot of garbage cans.  I stink of dumpster gravy.  I answered about a million questions.

My boss took me aside about 1100  and gave me an official reprimand.  Straight from the top in Tallahassee.  I am a bad ranger.  I spoke too sharply to a Karen lady on one of my boat tours and she complained. 

The boss slapped me lightly on both wrists and told me not to do that again.

Bill did you push in the transmission drive tabs on each trans so you could push or tow the mower? That will disable the transmissions until you pull the tabs back out. May sound stupid to ask I know but I've done so myself and forgotten then wondered why it wouldn't drive.

Yesterday when I picked up the weed eater it started pouring gas out so I found the plastic nipple was broke where the line connects so I installed a new carb and fuel line kit which got it running great. Got a lot of weeds done afterward and mowed too. A cold shower, cold beer and cold grapes never felt so good. Mercy that white sun is hot indeed.

OUCH!  I did that once while cleaning a big snapping turtle. They keep kicking long after they are dead (at least I thought it was since it no longer had a head). Kicked that knife through my hand. Really traumatic when you are only 16.

Funny how following intuition and watching a hinky person extra carefully makes them take off! Works like a charm.

I wish all rangers would/could do the same as you did, consistently. Thanks for putting up with the trash, both the literal kind and the people kind.

I swear, holidays—especially extended holiday weekends—have become a parade of rotten behavior. I’ll check the DV incidents in the local LE blotters for the next week. There are likely to be more of those than usual, as well as lots of drunkenness, drugginess, loudness, and illegal campingness. Local yokel version and touron version.

Yeah Gil..  I did have the tabs pulled to move the mower into the shop but I remembered to release them once the job was done. The I pulled them again to load the mower to go to Mike's place. I also told him they were pulled.
But yeah, thanks for the reminder. I wish that was the case.

Bill I'm not the only one I know of that's forgotten those were ever pushed in so I wish that would've been the case for you as it would be an ez solve. Sometimes the most obvious is overlooked especially when you're in pain.

Made a quick run over to the dump. Trash cans were all filled and we're under no burn orders. Normally I only need to go once or twice a month but because it's so dry it seems like I need to go once a week.😡 Come on rain!!🙏

I once had an axel to wheel key fall out. I thought the hydrostatic trans went out until I discovered it missing.

The eXmark is a beast.
First I mowed our property inside the fence. Then I mowed a strip along the outside front of the fence.
Then I walked both sides of the 75yd drive picking up all fallen limbs and such. I raised the deck all the way up and bush hogged it.
Looks much better. Ma Nature was reclaiming that area.

Yep! They light up like a neon light. They're quick little nuggets I can tell you that. They're also not very big like the one's we had in Lucerne valley.
