Up with the dog this AM.  Made coffee.  Sipped and conversed with Mrs.P.  Cut a couple heads of hair.  Checked out Sean’s fort he’s working on in the back and helped him sharpen his hatchet 🪓.  Right now I’m looking for motivation to go outside and get a workout in.  I’m thinking about setting up some new targets and doing some airgunning during the workout for simulating stress.  ⬅️⬅️⬅️ That IS airgun related.

Definitely today is Not a airgun day.😡 Winds blowing at 14 with gusts to 20 and it's predicted to be gusting to 36 this afternoon.

Fertilized the whole garden.  Cultivated four beds with a hoe.  Helped the memsahib move a big potted fig and an Avocado tree.  Started laying out the drip irritation (sic) system.  Caged a dozen tomato plants.  And discussed what we’re going to do with the green house for the summer.

Betty Lou isn't feeling well and decided to lay down after lunch. I took walk down the trail to the barn and stopped to pet the mini American bullies that Nick has down there in pens. I picked up a blue bird house that he took off the barn and was going to throw in the burn pile. I forgot to grab it the other day when he told me to take it.
I brought it back and hung it on a post with another one that was already there. We now have 2 nesting houses and 3 feeders all visible out the front door and on the camera. We also have a bottle brush bush that the humming birds frequent.
Killer had a whole bunch of birds that hung out here when he lived here. He would keep wild bird seed out for them. We didn't feed them until recently and they are all beginning to return now. It's funny to watch Boss and Rambo lay on the front deck and follow them with their eyes.

I actually didn't need the hoe.  I usually do it by hand.  I'm getting old and it's a lot easier now with a hoe.

I walked out with Betty Lou and the dogs while she took clothes off the line and noticed the grass needed cut. When I was doing all 4 - 5 acres it would take me 3 - 4 hours and 2 tanks of gas. Since we downsized it took me about 20 minutes and gas that was still in the tank from last time I mowed. We also have grass beginning to take hold and spread in the areas we cleared in the back.
We just got all that rain and it's supposed to be dry, sunny and warm for the next week or so. I bet that grass is gonna go wild.

I went kayaking on this beautiful, only slightly breezy spring day. The wind, pollen, and dust have been making my eyes itchy/watery and my nose sneezy. On the water gave me a break from that; I only sneezed twice out there.

But now I’m back to the same old allergic torture at home. No shooting with my eyes in this condition. We need rain.

 We went to a Baby Shower, a first for me. It was held for our coming 16th great grandbaby.

 My grandson married into a Mexican family and there were over 100 guests invited, lots of food (Melons, Fruits, tacos, nachos, and all the fixins) and Funnel Cake with five flavor topping options, Cake, and Cup Cakes. It was a huge celebration with lots of things for the adults and kids to do, yard games etc...

 My grandson told me they spent over $2,000 on this "Baby Shower". This family knows how to celebrate!
 We were there 5 hours having a good time and just got home tired out.

Nick is the nephew of Killer and he is the one that bought the acre we live on and the acre of land that the barn is on. He is closing in the ends of the barn and will pour a concrete floor. He also plans to breed and sell those Mini American Bullies. He has built 3 large kennels and has 3 females and a male. He works on the pipeline.
This morning he called us to let us know he is beginning a new job and will be in Florida for 6 months. He asked if we would take care of the dogs and he would pay us. So I guess Betty Lou and I have a new job.
He also asked me to install and wire 5 outlets. He already bought them and they are at the barn.

Took out the camphor tree completely yesterday. I will have to wait for the ground to dry out some to level the ground back out. Finish cleaning up an old lumber pile and level it out for a fruit tree since it is a dry spot and close to a water spigot if it needs water later on. Put on the final coat of paint for the gate panel. Sort out flatware to make the snake for the other part of the gate. I have been want to make stuff out flatware for a long time.
