So far I put new blades on the lawn tractor, then mowed most of what needed it, and used the weed whacker for a couple of hours. I need to go to town and get gas before I can finish the mowing. I am tired and might wait until tomorrow to finish mowing.

 I hate going to town dirty and if I shower and change clothes I may as well just mow the rest another day. I don't have a problem with drive my patina paint truck that looks well worn but, I don't like being seen in dirty or scruffy clothes.

I understand… but, if I weren’t seen in dirty work clothes- I’d hardly ever be seen. I think I wear them well though.

 I wore a tie to work for 42 years so I don't feel dressed up with a tie. I hardly ever wear a tie since I retired from my other job. I dress pretty casually and I will wear stained shirts to work on things where I know I am going to get dirty.
 I like snaps on shirts better than buttons, I will/do wear button up or snap closed shirts some but, hardly ever tuck my shirt in. I just like being and looking clean especially when I know I am going to be seen.
 Most every day I wear Wrangler Riggs Ranger pants, love all the pockets.  Shirt, a pull over sleeveless or with some variation of sleeve.

I've always suspected there was a secret relationship between the world of fashion/hygiene and air guns.   For me it's cargo pants and my shirt must have two pockets large enough for my phone or a PB magazine or my glasses.   The pockets must have a button down flap.

Been super-busyper usual... Today is a normal workday, running a buncha SQL scripts on some databases... interspersed with squaring up a replacement window.  All I have to do with this last window is flashing, but since I don't have a metal brake and don't have time, a neighbor with his own siding company has offered to do it.

Early this morning I also pulled a door frame.  The new door is mounted and squared/leveled.  I have to get a little creative with the jamb on one side but nothing really odd.  Once this door is completed, I have 3 others.  I also have to install a door-less jamb in our hallway, but given some oddities of this house (built in the early 60s with several "additions") a pre-fab kit won't work.

A little background: Sonja and I are on the home stretch on our Quonset hut home- she laid the floor tile and the "curb" tile using ceramic con tile (base) and subway tile (shower curb)... I completed the walls with Palisade vinyl wall tile.  If anybody is considering Palisade, skip the edge/trim moldings and just use butt-joints as it is easier and the moldings seem to be deliverd "pre-bent"- talk about frustrating!  Things were a little more complicated as the Schluter shower pan/walls have about 5/32" runout from base to ceiling.  Nothing some caulk can't address.  We still have to move the fridge and washer/drier (GE unit, heat-pump-based washer with dry cycle).  The latter makes the fridge seem light in comparison.  We now have a gravel/crushed slate driveway so moving appliances will be easier.  We still need to erect a shop but that's later this year.

During lunch I broke out the Sawzall and cut up some square steel beams.  The pieces will eventually become a box grader, but again, that's sometime later this year.

A lot of rain and tree limbs down here too Ron. A lot of roads flooded and turning around to drive alternate routes after driving through a flooded zone popped my bumper side out an inch. Nothing some overnight epoxy couldn't fix.

A mower deck piece by the chute broke so I had to get that welded and what a PITA that was mounting it back but I got it done. Now I can mow with the mulch attachment again whenever it stops flooding.

I drove mom to the nursing home to visit her husband.  Of course I hit the Academy sporting goods and the Bass Pro nearby after I dropped her off.  I picked them both up and took them home.  He's spending a long weekend with her and then back to the nursing home.  They are going to take their motorhome and visit some friends in west Florida for a few days.  I don't know how much longer they will be able to continue doing things independently but mom has a will of iron so this probably won't be their last trip.  Flytrap is doing MUCH better.  She ate from her bowl this evening and clearly wanted more.  I decided to feed her a little now and more later if she does well with this.

Mowing and yardwork until I had too much pain too bad to continue. It's times like these I could use some good pain pills. 
 OK gotta shake it off and go on with the rest of the day. I am going to take the rest of today and tomorrow off from physical work though.
 I feel like skipping Bible Study, but that is not an option since I am the Pastor. I just pushed my self too hard, This too shall pass!

Dan same here. Had to take a day off and recupe. Ground is mush from the floods anyway. Thankfully sun is out again. A lot of limbs to pick up after the storms.

Sorry to hear that you are hurting Dan.   I've been taking it real easy on my vacation for the last week and I'm relatively pain free for once.  So there's obviously a connection between work and pain.  My suggestion is take it easy Buddy!  There ain't no first prize for hurting the most.

The memsahib and I finally made it to the grocery store(s) today!  Between Costco, Walmart, and Wynn Dixie I have dropped better than 600 simoleons in the last three hours.

Whew!  Well $42 of that went for five tins of pellets so it ain't a total loss.

The storm has blown through and we are surrounded by water.  The yard is only slowly starting to percolate.

Hate to think of how bad Kris got it.

How about 9.2 inches of rain for starters. A day of wading around in shin deep water and cleaning up the mess again. Some of the chicken pens took a beating this go around so that was a priority for sure. The yard crew stayed around the house which is the only high ground in the yard. Some did wade around but not for long. I am pretty much tired of the flooding. There will a new pond or extend the one I got now when this mess dries out and use the dirt for filling in the low spots.

 I didn't do anything physical as planned! I finally didn't procrastinate any more on my taxes. I felt another kind of pain at the conclusion.
 But the main reason I owed was my pension quit withholding taxes after they had only withheld $180 federal and no state taxes. I need to check into that.

My poor neighbor's yard behind me is a lake all the way to his back door. The guy before him dug down and leveled the place unfortunately he created a retention pond in his yard. So when it rains my property drains on to his. I never cleared off the back forty for several reasons, one was to leave the vegetation so it would soak up the run off. When you have certain plants growing on your property it's pretty good indication of what type ground you have. River Birch and Atlantic white cedar love wet soggy ground and I have both growing on my property naturally.
