Looking to extend the fenced in area another 20yds out on the north side. The woods aren't very thick there and it wouldn't take much to clear it.

A lot of scrambling today but we managed to get everything in on time.

Lunch was on the fly ‘cause we brought home a puppy and had to boogie to get to our chocolate date on time. 

Now we are home adapting to life with a puppy.  It’s not my idea but everyone else seems to think a dog is a good idea so, we have a dog amongst us.

I got my haircut, came home and showered, then I tried to go to the DMV, the parking lot was jammed full and cars were in the isles to the street. Nope, not today, I'll try again, later, maybe early tomorrow?

So I went out to lunch and then came home and did yardwork for 3 more hours. It's looking pretty good now. I am going to call it good enough until after the rain. We are suppose to get rain the next three days. We had some unexpected drizzle last night and it was a little wetter than I like to mow but it won't be any dryer for the next 8 days, so I just mowed it anyway. Everywhere that gets mowed is about 2 inches tall now.

Went to the LGS for a couple boxes of ammo.
  On the counter was a bundle of fresh "consignment" guns from an old dude thinning his heard.
I spied one of my "bucket list" guns... A literally "like new" Savage Striker pistol with a vintage Tasco true pistol eye relief 1.25 x 4 scope.

Brought it home.

I am gonna be in the Dawg House again with Hoosier Momma.. but hey, it's worth it!

Hung around the house and played with the pup until time to play pool with pops.  Went to his place and played.  Came into work a bit early and hit the gym.  Had a couple jobs to do once it was time to start.  Went to Costco next door and now I’m chilling waiting for the bat phone or the quittin’ time bell to ring.

My car's automatic shifter went faulty so I bought a used one off Ebay and took the car apart to install the replacement. Adjusted the Ebrake while I had the center console out then put everything back together then tested it all and the car is right again. Took a little over an hour because some wiring clips gave me hades but I got it done. Saved myself almost $1k doing it myself as a new shifter alone costs over $700 let alone the labor $ of install!

The heat pump had ice so I shut it off most of the day to defrost. No more ice, but now it doesn't put out heat at all and it's in the low 40's outside now.

Puppy got a name yet?

Thanks everyone!  Her name is Milani.  That is the name she had from the shelter.  Not sure if we are going to keep it or come up with a different one.  So far we haven’t come up with anything better.

I can’t sleep (coffee before I came home from work) and I’m sitting here in the dark with Milani by my feet.  We didn’t crate her tonight and she has been laying on a blanket dozing peacefully so we didn’t want to disturb her by putting her in the crate and then she could have started crying.  It’s been a learning experience for all of us.

Create training is the hardest part of having a puppy. While it reduces the accidents and destruction, it can cause insomnia for sure. It's kind of like having a baby waking you up to feed in the middle of the night. It won't be long and the create can go to the garage. Just one of the joys of puppy training.

Personally I have never "Crate Trained" a dog... actually it wasn't a thing back in the day.
All mine have been "Free Range" run of the house. Puppy's need to be watched, you will start to recognize when they need to "potty" and take them out.
 Then before you know it they tell you when it's time. Just don't ignore it.
