I draw and paint for my own amusement now.  I have two graphic stories that I'm working on.  Both will probably never be published (or even finished).  It keeps me occupied when I can't go hunting or fishing!

I cut and string trimmed my younger daughter's yards yesterday.

Cut 4 acres of my yard today, tomorrow I'll finish and then do the string trimming.

As I understand it, one must visualize the end image of art. I have never been able to see this. I cannot draw or paint.

People who do that when making beautiful custom cars just amazes me how they see it first in their head then make it. Different gifts for different people to make the world work.

I think I forgot to hit post when I had typed "Congratulations Scott".

There has been several posts lately that I started but got called away from my computer and didn't complete.

Today we went to our house in town and put the green waste can away that was emptied either really late last night or early this morning. Went to two banks, and by my sister's house to drop off some estate paperwork and pick some lemons. Then went by the grocery store on the way home. We got back home by 10:30 AM.

Then I mostly stayed in the cool house and waited for deliveries of '69 Honda CT90 parts that I finally got around to ordering. I am not sure when I am going to rebuild the motor yet. I also need to pick up some paint to make it look more original and better.

I need/want to paint the frame downtube cover, battery cover, headlight bucket, engine and fork tubes. I may get carried away and just paint the whole thing if I am not careful, LOL.   It is cleaning up pretty well though, better than I thought it would. I rebuilt the forks already, I took everything off the frame for cleaning so there are no crevasses that look dirty except for the little rusty bits.

Thanks, I have enjoyed the process so far. I am tempted to try to make it close to perfect as is possible but the frame downtube cover is a little different than the original so, it isn't going to be exactly like it was again. Most people wouldn't know the frame cover is a 1982-1986 CT110 part though. It is shaped just slightly different but is a good fit, the left Honda decal won't quite fit like the original though.

Well I worked on the beach most of the day because we are short of lifeguards.  Then I closed the park up for the day about 8 and came home.

Our summer garden is going well with all the rain we've been getting.  Okra, beans, melons, Tomatillos, and peppers all do well in the heat so we're going to see if they can survive August here in the panhandle.

I have 10mm wrenches and sockets I was given over 50 years ago. I was taught to not lose tools. I have two hands so I was allowed to have two tools out at a time.

I have kinda fallen off the wagon too, but still take care of my tools and it is REALLY RARE for me to lose a tool. I did lose one once inside the frame of a car. 


I use a portable box that I carry the tools from the tool chest to where I am working now. So I modified that which I was taught to work better for me.


I think my dad did show some favor towards me because I never lost any of his tools like my brothers did even though I used them more than my brothers did.

After having my 2nd Cheap China Freight heat gun fail I just bought a good one. I have a nice cabinet for all my electric tools where the each have a designated place so, finding one is never a problem.


I still have not found the two pocket knives I put up to keep them safe while we were on vacation.

It's true, as a mechanic 10mm sockets have a way of disappearing into the ether. I've only lost a handful of sockets in 9 years, most of them 10mm. It's a curse!

I walked through my tractor repair shop the other day with parts and tools everywhere in piles with no order whatsoever. Must take 5 times longer to complete a job that way than what it should take wasting too much time looking for the one part or tool they need.

Eh, it depends on the tech. We've had techs that were obnoxiously organized and meticulous, who were ungodly slow. We have also had complete slobs who were very efficient with very little come back work.

What may look like a pile of parts may actually be an oddly organized stack. Or removed parts that are saved until the customer has picked up their machine, in case they want to see what was wrong.

Piles of tools could just be a stack at the end of a job before being put back where they belong, especially working on tractors where a lot of the work is underneath and the floor has to become your work bench.

I'm not arguing that the shop wasn't a disaster,  but depending on where I'm at with a project, my bay can look a mess, but there is usually a method to the madness.
