Picked up a new used (?) Barbeque 4 burner. Neibor bought it in Idaho before he moved down here and thought he was going to use it but there was a change of plans and so we picked it up for $75 . He's never used it so in a way it's new but it's been owned by someone before we got it.😂

It came with a cover and a set of barbecue tools.

Got outta bed at 8:00 a.m.  Went back to bed at 9:00.  Got up again at 5:15.  Thinking about going back. . . . . .  Not one of my better days.

This is retro active. Yesterday I mowed about 4 acres, took a shower, had lunch, waited for a couple of packages to arrive and then went to Desert Hot Springs Spa, where we swam and soaked in the pools, stopped and had fish tacos a couple of blocks down the street on the way home.


 It was 93°F with some clouds here yesterday when we left and clear and 108°F at Desert Hot Springs. The big swimming pool was where I spent the first 3 hours then got in a warmer pool as the sun went down. There was a nice breeze and we enjoyed the relaxation.


 The traffic flowed better coming home later. It took 1 hour and 14 minutes to get there and 1 hour and 3 minutes get home.

I went to a gun show...saw only 1 airgun...an overpriced Hatsan....
I was supposed to meet up with a gent who has a Crosman 1400 needing to be resealed......he didn't show.
So, he whole morning was a bust..........way too hot to do anything when I got home.

 Mowed lawn for the first time in a month, got caught up on weeding, still have a bit to do today, if so inclined, at lest we got a break from the heat and humidity this weekend

Dan that sounds fun. It was 102 here so almost as hot as there. I spent time under the trees watering them since the leaves are dying after no rain for a couple weeks. I don't want the trees to start dropping limbs. Grass is almost dead too but I don't mind that since it's less dusty mowing for me.

Came back from Grand Rapids today from a wedding. One of my 3 nieces got married. Fun time. Drive back not so fun. Pouring rain and wind with 62F for the 2+ hour drive back. Glad to be home again. Getting so I hate traveling.

Spent most of the day being a slug. Around 2 I got motivated and started on my wainscoting project on the house. Now everything is sealed up, furred out and tar papered. Next weekend will be flashing with the possibility of some T111 going up.

Wife and I have said many a time our favorite place is home. When we were in our 20s and 30s we could never figure out why my mom never wanted to go anywhere. 💡we now know!

Today was church.  Mounted a hitch receiver on the Sienna.  I was having one tough time on getting one one bolt in.  Too much corrosion in the threads.  Ordered a tap to clean it out. 

Yesterday we explored some around Mt St Helens.  Ended the venture at the Ape Caves.  Good times!

I miss the cave diving when I was living Salt Springs, FL. I have been in most the cave systems in that area. Each one had a unique rock formation and was full of fossilized sea life embedded in the cave walls. There are above ground caves in the area that I live in now. Florida Caverns State Park is the most popular one to visit.

Went to the range early this a.m. to sight in some PBs for hunting season.  For some reason I took the Desert Eagle.  Haven't had this thing out of the box in fifteen years.  Still one serious handgun!

No, never got the chance to dive that system. I did dive Vortex when I first moved here, never could find anybody to dive with. Cave diving is not very popular in this area, it's mostly reef and wreck diving. I have been in Little River, Telford and Little Telford, Orange springs, Peacock spring system, Cow sink, Forty Fathom grotto, Devil's Den, Blue grotto, Crystal river system, Manatee spring and Catfish sink, Ginnie springs system, and Blue springs in Deland, FL.

Polished the headlight lenses on the van, put the cargo box on top, filled the fuel tank, replaced a burned out brake light bulb.  Need to get the oil changed soon.  Bought this used a few years ago for $3000.  Just rolled 205,000 miles.  I think I got my money's worth so far.  We own 4 Toyota.  Reliable rigs.  Wish I had my original 1984 4X4 pickup still.  I sold it and bought a motorcycle.  🙄

I'm fixing to change the oil in my car too Brett, just letting the engine cool down some. I learned how to drive stick in one of those little trucks when I was just 12yrs old. I'd get up to 3rd gear by the end of the driveway then turn around and repeat. Fun times for a kid, especially leaving skid marks in the pavement.

Stayed out of the heat, excessive heat advisory for the next few days. Heat index at KPAM on Tyndall is 104* right now. Fishing is out for now during the day. I have been working on lures and jigs, repairing and rebuilding most of them. I try to get most of the outdoor stuff by 10 a.m. then spend the rest of the day in the house or shop until it cools down enough to go back outside. This is the hottest I ever have seen it get here and no rain either, having to water stuff twice a day. I haven't lost any chickens yet but they sure have dropped the feathers to stay cool, some look like turkens or been in a plucker.
