I collected and trimmed enough native Bamboo to construct another big fish trap.  I’m doing an interpretive program at another state park Friday and Saturday.  I’ll make a basket trap and demonstrate primitive fishing techniques.

Tomorrow it will be the general public so I expect to be busy.

I gave my primitive fishing program at an educational event at Florida Caverns State park.  It takes about 45 minutes and encompasses gags, Spears, traps, nets, poisons, grenades and what have you.

But effective!!😁 Just don't drop the grenade! Boot camp, DI is explaining what we're going to be doing on the grenade range. Pulls the pin and keeps talking while holding the lever. Acts like he accidentally drops it and man, you've never seen a bunch of recruits scramble so fast. The DI's were laughing their butts off. It was 170 men.

Brick base is started. used 1/4" spacer for the gap I'll fill with grout.

I'll use a grout bag to fill the gaps.
A grout bag is the same thing as a pastry bag used to decorate cakes and such.
We are thinking a greyish grout to keep it a neutral color but add that POP.
I'll add an Oak quarter round on top the brick after SWMBO does the final paint.

I got to tell you they scared the heck out of me. When we were waiting our turn to throw we waited behind a 2 foot thick brick wall and I swear, that wall would shake everytime a grande went off. I qualified expert. I remember being in the throw pit with the DI. I went through all of the steps we were trained to do. Threw the granade and pancaked on to the pit floor. I look up a see the DI still standing there and thinking to myself and yes to myself, are you stupid? Get your @@@ down behind the wall fool. I guess I hit the target.

Finally got my new track lites up and on in the office/gun room.   My old eyes like surgical operating room levels of light.  No more excuses for unfinished gun repair work.

Up the door framing started with the Brick.
I free hand cut the 45% at the top with a grinder and a Diamond blade.
No wet saws needed!



Now I have to do Math to get the top run to look nice and even!

Ernie congrats it feels good to gets the lights upgraded for sure. I recently upgraded a dark store room from it's 2 light fixture to a 3 light fixture and what a difference!

He'd dropped it under his couch. Lifted the roof off the apartment he lived in.
The blast knocked his wife out as she slept and she found what was left of him the next afternoon when she recovered.
No idea why neighbors didn't report it.

Math shows I need 8.917534 bricks and that includes the 1/4" space so I'll find the middle and go from there across the top.
That's measured from the bottom edge so may have to take new measurements DANG IT!

When it was my turn I ran out to the pit handed the DS my grenade. He handed it back I thumbed that clip pulled the pin and hucked it as hard as I could. We didn't crouch down as it landed at the back side of the range.

He looked at me after it went boom said impressive isn't it.
Yes.
You forgot something.
Yep.
Get out of my pit. So I did.

The kid who ran out after me dropped the gernaid and threw the pin... Now that was an interesting moment.
