Making a second batch of black powder for my canon, cleaning out all the totes I took to convention, putting stuff back into the pole barn and cleaning up the garage. I also need to get my workbench back, the "Project Monster" has all sorts of carp laid out that needs to find the circular file or be put away.

Are you making corned powder or meal powder?

Both, I make green meal and ball mill it then add 4% water and puck it, dry it out and corn it then classify the grains. I make pulverone from all the dust left from corning.

Andalusia Gun and Knife Show yesterday. Not one single airgun in sight. I was able to buy a Daisy tin sign for the bar. It's a repop.
I just happened to have the 1914 German Mauser (pocket pistol) from WWI in the truck and took it in to see if there was an interest in it. One guy tried to low ball me big time so I put it back in my pocket and brought it back home. The prices on everything were stupid. I didn't see anything that even came close to making me to pull the card out. I'm just not into PB like that. This is the 3rd time we've been to this show and I've only seen, and bought, one airgun. I'm not even going to bother with it anymore.

Same experience I've had lately. I haven't been to the last two shows in Laurel since the previous two times I went I didn't see any airguns. The son of one of my PB shooting friends had a couple of tables set up at the last show in Laurel. He said the prices were crazy, and he didn't see any airguns.

Me three!  I’ve been to three local gun shows over the last five years.  All pretty much identical. No airguns.  Even fifteen years ago the gun shows I went to in Texas always had a few quality air rifles on display and usually a truck load of B-3’s.  I once told a local gun store owner that I thought air rifles were going to be a growing market.  From the expression on his face I could tell that he thought I was speaking some form of blasphemy.

Today I mowed almost 2/3 of my front yard, maybe an acre or so, fed the dogs and am now cooking peach and ginger chicken for dinner for when my wife gets home from work in an hour and a half. I have a rare 2 days off back to back today and tomorrow so today was my "lazy" day.

Drove up to Tallahassee and looked at my daughter’s new apartment.  Then we drove around town looking at where she’s going to work.  Then we swung by the doughnut shop and then Pitaria for some felafel and humus.  The memsahib is very happy!

We made it home from the hospital. Ayrabella had the tube taken out just before lunch. She had lunch and kept her food and drinks down. The gastroenterologist never came, but they released us and she has an appointment with him in December. Hopefully, with a healthy diet and a steady dose of stuff to keep her right, we will not have to do the hospital thing again. Again, thanks to all who prayed for her. Went to Williams to get some things from the hardware store and go to the Safeway to some food. Just about home and the wife calls and tells me we had a mini tornado come through and it blew a couple of shingles off. So I had to climb up on the roof and replace them. When I got done and got back on teraferma my legs were shaking. That is one steep roof!! 😳😳😳

Working- as in my Day Job. 

This afternoon gonna pull some plywood down from the loft in my shed and work on some new shelving for my folks at their Assisted Living place.  I made a coffee-table-looking thing out of some pallet scraps last week, threw a nice finish on it while still maintaining a bit of rustic look, and when we showed up last night to deliver she immediately loved it.  My dad was proud- he taught me a lot of the basic woodworking skills.  These shelving units will be angular (isosceles AKA right-triangle) to maximize room.  They're settling in very well, and eating much better now- should be getting internet and basic cable today.  I'm going to introduce them to using a Roku next visit, and will likely let them assume my Netflix account since I haven't watched TV in...  Many many months.

Other stuff?  Gotta review some blueprints for our quonset-home.  We got them back from the architect yesterday and haven't had a chance to review.  Also been working on taking inventory of my tools.  I don't need 5 houses worth of tools!

I got my line trimming done and my hedges trimmed, boy they needed it. After that it was too hot. Had leftover pizza for lunch and a nap. I woke up to an alert for storms, I said “what?”, but it did… it poured for about an hour or more and the temperature dropped 20 degrees! After all that, I put tools and parts back on my van as the temperature rose and you could literally see the steam come up like a fog. Then I cleaned the evaporator & condenser coils on my garage AC. I was soaked and needed another shower. That was it, no shooting for us today… but my wife made pork chops, rice, corn, mac & cheese and applesauce, of course, at Ayrabella’s request. It was a good day, tomorrow it’s back to work. Hopefully, Saturday, after work we’ll get those targets painted & Sunday after Ch**ch we’ll do some shooting.

Just got home from work. Worked on a freezer, but I need a pump that we don’t carry. I shut it down & will have to go back this week. Going to change, take a nap & when I get up Ayrabella & I will feed the birds & the deer. If we can, I’d like to pull out the FWB Sport & maybe the Co2 rifles too.

▪Secured all target stands and spinner racks
▪Secured the picnic table, swing, and chairs that are at the woods line 60 yds out.
▪Went to service station to get gasoline for my son's generator since he working today. (Lines at each pump were backed up two or three cars deep).
▪Got my two generators ready for the predicted power outages in the wake if Hurricane Ida.

After Hurricane Katrina I really didn't think I would use my large Craftsman 10hp  5.6kw generator again until we had another extended power outage so I built a wooden crate for it.  Before crating it up I drained the gas out of the tank and ran it until it went dead. Today I opened up the crate for the first time in over a decade, I aired up the tires, put 2.5 gallons of gas in the gas tank. I opened the gas petcock, flipped the switch to run position,  moved the throttle to choke position, and grabbed the pull rope.  Believe it or not, after sitting dormant for 16 years it cranked on the first pull.
