Brought home my next winter project... I am so screwed. 
Old friend of the family is clearing out his shop. Offered me a bike project.
I have known this bike for +45 years as it was up in the rafters of the Drag Racing shop I pit-crewed for as a youth.

Vintage A75 BSA Rocket 3 chopper... so stinkin cool but rougher than I remembered.
We are still searching for parts amoung the BB Mopar stuff.
 BUT it is mine!
I have had BSA's since the early '80s... Now I own a
'67 B44 Victor 441 Roadster (single)
'67 A65 Spitire 650 (twin)
and now this '70s A75 Rocket 3 (triple)

You think AIRGUNS are a Rabbit Hole... LOL!

What does one man need that many motorcycles for?

 I joke, LOL. I think motorcycles are a lot like airguns, a guy (or Gal) can't own too many.

Man I envy you!  Wait no I don't!  Well maybe some. I played around with Beemers and I had a basket case Goldstar for a while.  No more Limey Leakers for me.  But a Rocket Three!  Yeah I could get excited about that!  I've a 74' SdKFz type 181 Kurierwagen sitting in the garage waiting for me.

I had a friend in high school who drove a VW Thing and then traded it for a Super Beetle, or the other way around? I don't remember which came first, actually his mom owned them both but she worked nights and he drove them most days to school. 

I gave my mom's Super Beetle convertible to my step brother last year.  I couldn't afford to restore both cars.  I kept the Kubelsitzerwagen as being the more fun of the two.  Saving money now to convert it to electricity!

Shoveled the first decent snow this A.M. Was -1F @ 5 A.M., -13F below with the wind chill NW of me further in the Sandhills. My thermometer said 12F. High of 22 this afternoon with a wind chill in single digits. A big bowl or 2 of very spicy chili piled high with oyster crackers for supper tonight

I am starting to wonder if my younger brother and sister would be ready to relocate to Tennessee.  This has been the busiest Atlantic storm season I can remember.  I think that maybe 19 storms have hit the US mainland already with a month plus still to go.  Even 2005 (the Katrina year) was less than half that.

Always thought that when I retired I would move way south. Glad I didn't.  Dealing with a blizzard is a lot easier and safer than a hurricane and we only get one every couple of years.

A friend of my wife's asked us if we needed any pecans. (We have lost 18 pecan trees as the result of Hurricane Katrina, 14 during the storm and 4 more that were damaged during the storm and since died. One of those four just last year.)
Yes, we replied.  We picked up 96 lbs Saturday,  they were free, the friend didn't/wouldn't accept any money. I've been cracking pecans and my wife has been picking them out ever since. I've got about 56 lbs left to crack.

Tom, I now realize how much stress the STORMS caused me to suffer.  When I was still living in Louisiana, we once had two storms within four weeks.  This year, there were two storms that came ashore within twelve miles.  Poor Lake Charles got hammered by those two storms.  Once, I was caught in the eye of the same hurricane twice.   
I can't seem to break the habit of staying glued to the TV watching the Weather Channel whenever there is a storm in the Gulf.  With other people, Their Mileage May Vary.

My pistol and rifle speed loaders arrived today along with my neck gaiter. It was too long so I cut it in half and it can be used as upper lower sections as pictured below where only the eyes are slightly visible. If you see a tree walking in the woods don't shoot me I'm looking for hogs to wack with my thunder stick.

Replaced ten 4’ fluorescent shop lights out for six 4’ LED shop lights.  WOW!  It’s nice and bright now and it will be nice to not have to replace bulbs all the time or deal with flickering lights.

I took a chance and went with these from Harbor Freight.  I was a bit reluctant so I bought 2 and hung them.  There was such a drastic difference with the fluorescents I had I went back and bought the remaining 4 on the shelf.  Went from 10 fixtures down to 6 and it’s much much brighter out there.  So $132 later I am very pleased.  These are very basic lights.  Time will tell to see how they last but right now I’m loving the light!
