Scott, sounds like you have some rancid dog food if you are using dry dog food. I rotate my dog food every purchase, another words a different brand each purchase for that reason. Also it keeps them from getting bored with eating the same food every day.

I just bought a fresh bag of "benniful" between the two episodes. The common denominator is some steak bones that Hoosier Momma brought home from work.

Steak bones is a good possibility for sure. Since you have the one dog, the 15lb to 25lb bags would be a better purchase, smaller bags rotate quicker in the stores with less chance of becoming rancid.

I'll be building a shelf for the carport later today just so I can get a little more organization going on.  I was also apparently volunteered to help rebuild a small boat ramp for Sonja's folks- don't mind at all.  They tend to "pay" with excellent food.

Scott and Kris- don't forget some dogs with sensitive stomachs gotta stay on one type of food unless you s-l-o-w-l-y switch over several weeks.  The dog that comprises my avatar was one such critter.  Now the 8 I'm living with now don't seem to care.  If it resembles food, they like it.

They are the 56K modems. We had several hundred back in the day.

I used a modem like that to dial BBS numbers that were in the back of "Computer Shopper" magazine before I had the internet in the early 80's.

I know, I was referring to the 2400 baud modem I posted a pic of.
I was a bit of a geek I had subscriptions to  PC Mag, BYTE, and Computer Shopper and four or five other magazines that I eagerly waited for the next issue of as well as a lot of books on computer topics and tech.

I had very little interest in computers until 1987. I ended up buying USAF outdated computers later on some were 8088 based IBM with MCA with LOTS of memory for the time period. One had Windows 1.0 on it LOL. They were supposedly "wiped" but I was able to recover everything using un-delete tools, that was on them including SS#'s, service, medical records, and F16 and other plane and weapon statistics (which I then wiped from them)
Some only needed BIOS info though.

I was really shocked that some idiots left all that on computers that I was able to but for 25-35 dollars each.
My older brother made his own computer that was a little better than the Commodore 64 which he had. He studied electronics on his own and drew a schematic and built a 2 tube radio when he was in third grade. Our bedroom always smelled like burning solder. We had WW2 aircraft radios that he built a power supply for that we listened to broadcast around the world on too. He didn't build the computer until he was 15 or 16 years old. Radio Shack was his favorite store in town but he frequently went to Electronics Warehouse and electronics parts houses in L.A. after he was old enough to drive and didn't have to wait to get my dad to take him.

HA! I had one... ran on a cassette player until I bought a 5 1⁄4-inch floppy drive. Took me a month or more to write the program to make a Ball that bounced off the edge of the screen like "pong". (OH There is an Oldie)
 Today, I can barely spell DOS let alone write it!!!!

What memories...
I got my commodore 64 for Christmas 83. I was a bit disappointed that the status light was red and not green like on its little brother the VIC-20 but man, I loved my computer. I used to play Solomon's key and Bard's Tale under my blankets at night...  with a CRT, that was quite a feat...  I couldn't afford the disk reader, so I used the cassette extensively.
Long story made short, in retrospect, there was no way I was nearly as stealthy  as I thought I was

Besides basic, I only remember the code to reset the C64: SYS64738.

Geez, I recall scanning through my father's Egghead Software catalog.  I remember helping my father enter hexadecimal notation to program a Breakout-clone called Thunderbird as well as a couple more clones that played just like Omega Race and Battlezone.

Not quite two decades later, I was building some of the fastest overclocked computers around.  Custom water-block, D-50 heater cores, magnetic aquarium pumps, mandrel-bent copper tubing, and AT towers to handle the plumbing. 

Now I just order parts at either Amazon or NewEgg- what used to be Egghead!  Still build my own machines... Oddly enough, I still do a lot via Command-line with my customers.  Ever since Endpoint Protection became a thing with Windows 7-onward, the elevated command line simply makes stuff work the first time without call-backs.


Yesterday was a pretty relaxed day after work.  Hung out with Sonja and one of her co-workers, had a libation, and generally enjoyed the gorgeous day.

Anyway my oldest son and I took our trap thrower and "stuff" including my new over/under out to the local range just for some fun and to dust off some skills and to spend an afternoon together. We were having lots of fun making dust, and then I took out my new toy, and took a cardboard box out into the field to see how the barrels patterned. I'd already checked everything else out (except what chokes were in the barrel.). Anyway to make a long story short, my son got to make a lot of fun of me for bring a gun to the field with basically no choke. The pattern at 30 yards was probably five feet around - both barrels nicely centered, but you could have driven a model car through the patterns without being hit. Anyway, I shot at a few clays, with my son telling me that my pattern was great, the clays were somewhere in there, but I didn't hit a one before I decided to put it back in the sleeve to take it home as see what chokes are in the box.

A grand afternoon was had, and we agreed to do it again soon.

So far today, I received the 1973 Opel GT.
It's gonna need a lot of parts but the body and frame is in really great shape!
1st parts I'll order are the front and rear windshield gaskets to get them installed before winter hits.

This past weekend we planted the food plots in our deer woods. Yesterday I finished planting my food plot for the deer we see in our backyard. I don't hunt these, we just enjoy watching them. Our property where I hunt deer(96 acres) is where my wife was raised.  It's about 4-1/2 miles from here. It joins her cousin's property (100 acres) so we are allowed to hunt it also.
