HAHAHA.... The Frank Sikes Airport is directly behind our house. We watch and listen to the helicopters from Fort Rucker training at all hours. The crop dusters also use it as a base. I often thought about asking them to spill a little 'juice' upon take off or landing.
Those choppers come in formation and hover over our place... MAN, do they get that tin roof rattling. No complaints, they are cool to watch doing maneuvers.

I am about 6 miles as the crow flies from our little Airport. It was a WW2 Training base. It is now used for private planes and Cal-Fire uses it for the fire bombers and helicopters. Where I live we have a lot of small planes doing aerobatics over us. There are a couple sets of old planes that have friendly dog fights (no bullets) it is fun to watch. We also get a lot of military helicopters doing maneuvers, usually just formation flying. Once I was doing yard work and a military flew over fast and very LOW (as on the deck as possible). At the time I heard I looked up and it was about 100 yards away and a split second later I was in a dust cloud from it passing over. Scary!  It reminded me of Airwolf the way it was flying, LOL. If I had to guess I would say it was 30-35 feet off the ground because of the wind and dust it kicked up. As I watch it fly away I thought for sure it was going to crash.  It was amazing how it followed the contour of the hills and buildings power-lines maintaining the same LOW altitude as I watched it continue on. I never imagined helicopters flying that low and fast in real life over rural residential properties.

As a kid in the 60's I remember helicopters being a constant presence over head at my Grandfathers farm out side Dothan Al.  And At Mexico Beach we spent the summer starring up at the constant parade of military aircraft flying from Tyndal.  Jet engines were the back ground music to my childhood!

Anyhoo...  Spent 8 hours at work in the ranger station and then dug some utility trench when I got home.  Were turning our barn/shed into a tiny house for our daughter.

Ran out of work Thursday, so I took off yesterday and about the only thing I did was reflect on 9/11 and finish pulling boxes out of the garage and hiked them up to the attic. I can finally get this garage completely organized and setup how I want, which I started to do in the spring. I can’t believe next year it’ll be 20 years since 9/11.

While landscaping at one clients place, I noticed 3 military choppers flying a strike formation over another clients private air field. I notified the other client asap, he  is ex air force and retiredish stunt pilot, with a highly maneuverable experimental airplane, and thought he may have given them "permission to invade his air strip, but he had no knowledge of such events.

Helped cut, split, and load 3 dump trucks with firewood.  Then delivered to a couple of families who heat with wood but could not afford it this year.  They should be set until at least after Christmas when we could make another delivery. We have nearly 100 face cords stacked to deliver.  I will sleep well tonight.

Up in Michigan for some dirt therapy. 3 miles into the first loop just before I came off a bridge I went down hard. Was stuck on the ground bike ontop of me just running like mad. I tried to kick it off because I could not lift it off me. Lucky 2 other guys i was riding with were only a couple minutes behind me. Hurt bad rode the 3 miles back out and had a rest. Then got on my friends polaris 850 and road the loop while he rode my dirtbike. Still hurt to ride it but no way I could ride the yz.

Dont cry for me GTA I'm fine just sharing my day.

I say good Job! What doesn't kill you just hurts. 

When I rode dirt bikes I always thought if I wasn't crashing I wasn't finding my limits, (I could have gone faster).
