Lions Club Demo Derby this afternoon, Wilcox, Ne. Pop. maybe 300, there'll be more than that at the derby. 2 classes; limited weld and old school. There's a pond with some BIG bluegills on the way home. This time of year they're eating crickets and grasshoppers

Cut some low hanging walnut tree branches that were dragging the top of the RV when backing it in. Loaded them in the truck with a bunch of other debris an hauled it down to the public pickup area at the end of the road. A large 8" limb came down from a pecan tree. I'll cut that one up and deliver it to Pops for his smoker. He is doing Boston Butts today. Maybe he'll barter for one...

Ordered a 15 gallon 12v weed sprayer for the zturn/4 wheeler. Tired of filling and pumping that 1 gallon handheld.

Same here with the 2ga one used for weeds and ants. I have another one I use for diesel on my burn piles which also needs to be filled several times with big piles of green wood. Which one did you get? Wondering if I could put it in my mower trailer and the hose be long enough to hold in the mower spraying the fences and ants while driving?

I am about 6 miles as the crow flies from our little Airport. It was a WW2 Training base. It is now used for private planes and Cal-Fire uses it for the fire bombers and helicopters. Where I live we have a lot of small planes doing aerobatics over us. There are a couple sets of old planes that have friendly dog fights (no bullets) it is fun to watch. We also get a lot of military helicopters doing maneuvers, usually just formation flying. Once I was doing yard work and a military flew over fast and very LOW (as on the deck as possible). At the time I heard I looked up and it was about 100 yards away and a split second later I was in a dust cloud from it passing over. Scary!  It reminded me of Airwolf the way it was flying, LOL. If I had to guess I would say it was 30-35 feet off the ground because of the wind and dust it kicked up. As I watch it fly away I thought for sure it was going to crash.  It was amazing how it followed the contour of the hills and buildings power-lines maintaining the same LOW altitude as I watched it continue on. I never imagined helicopters flying that low and fast in real life over rural residential properties.

Neat stories. I loved that show as a kid and still enjoy hearing the theme song when some radio shows play it.


Had a soft Phillip's head Chinese screw on my mower strip from the dealer over tightening it so I got the impact driver and hammer then after 15 minutes of hammering hard as I could I finally got the screw loose which was not fun to do with a broken rib but I got it done. I rose my arms shouting YES in victory which also hurt. hehe

It's a good idea, the last time I broke my back I didn't find out until six weeks later.

I could have been paralyzed if my muscle spasms hadn't kept me from twisting or bending. The Doctor was amazed I was walking around. I am just sharing this to say you can push yourself too far if you aren't careful especially if you have resolve to "keep on keepin on".

When I was 14ish i broke my arm right at the growth plate didnt know for 5 days. And now while I can party like a rockstar I sure dont recover like one. I have health insurance so now instead of walking it off I go make sure I'm ok.

Nailed a pine tree in my younger days with a 1974 Honda ST 90. I hit it so hard that my shoes went 2 different directions and was out cold for 30 minutes. My boy friend(ex husband) was standing over me when I came to. I was stoved up for a week but walking, unfortunately I didn't go get checked out for body damage. 39 years later I would find out in ex-rays that I had broken my neck in 2 places and my left shoulder had been mangled to some extent.  I was wearing a helmet and that probably kept me alive when I hit the tree. Now that I am older, I am paying dearly for it. I love riding motorcycles but there comes a time that you have to decide when the party is over or be crippled and not be able to enjoy life.  I gave up the 2 wheels 4 years ago, I physically can not do it and the way people drive it's not worth it to me anymore. I have other activities that less destructive to my body and can still enjoy being outside.  "Hold my beer, watch this" days are over for me.

 I was 20 when I pulled my stunt. Be careful with your bruises, those can cause serious problems as well. Glad nothing was broken.

Among the non-airgunning activities I did this weekend, going longboard skateboarding with my girlfriend was the big ticket item.  She took a good fall Saturday, but got back up and we kept riding another 4 miles.  Considering she's 50 and just learned how to ride, falls are expected but still make me nervous when I see her take a spill.  Sunday she rode with even more confidence.  The old adage about paying your dues always comes true.  She's paid hers, and is getting better each time.  The grins on her face tell me she's loving it.

Otherwise we did a buncha yardwork out front, including drinking adult beverage while pulling weeds.  We even took the time to clean and detail both her van and my truck.

Today is phone call day to job sites in 3 different States.
Have to coordinate our work teams travel plans and such.

I did remove the light bar on "The Beast" as I don't have a cover for it and PA requires one.
I'm packing now to head to Eastern PA tomorrow to supervise that job site.

Thanks Bill, the latest update is not looking very promising right now. It reformed east of it's last estimated location and is starting to slam on the brakes and intensify as well. Just making the best of it for now.

The last weather news I saw on the TV Weather channel, indicated that Sally was moving at about 6 mph.  It still looked like it might go ashore at the mouth of the Mississippi River.  And, yes, it had reached HURRICANE strength.  About 150 miles offshore divided by 6 mph would put it ashore about this time tomorrow -- if it doesn't change forward speed.

Betty Lou is busy in the RV cleaning up after our last adventure.
We've earned a free weekend at one of our regular adventure spots and plan to use it this weekend after Sally gets the trails all muddied up and ready for us.
We'll load up Thursday evening and pull out Friday afternoon. We'll be set up and ready for a night run on Friday with the 4 wheelers. The weather promises to be mid to upper 70's and mostly sunny by then.
Fall is in the air and we are ready for it. From now until June is my kinda weather for outdoor stuff here in lower Alabama. This is why we came here.
