Had a random moment in a parking lot at the grocery store, everyone laughing at me but had 2 people check and be amazed!.   Some lady was explaining the wierd spike thing on her keys for breaking glass when shes in the car, i made a comment about its "not needed in a car" because every car comes equipped with a window breaker   probably have some of you going "seriously?"      You take off the head rest on your car seat, one or both poles have a "point" to them that was designed specifically for the job.

I carry one, but it's also a pen. Not always gonna have access to a head rest outside of a car. In case you need to rescue a distress animal, child from a stupid owner that hauls them around and leaves them in a car. Or an accident. Most car don't unlock on accidents. So you might think it's not needed. But can be a handy tool.

Got the infamous dreaded blue screen on my Microsoft surface today.  After several hours of work I am ready to use it as my next target. Been working with/on computers for a long time but this one has me ready to give up.  I suspect strongly that it is a hardware problem and not software related.  Considering what I mainly used it for (reading books), investing in an e-reader will be a cheaper option than trying to fix the surface.  I think I will set it at 100yds to make it somewhat challenging for my 392.

Was fed up with the integrated WiFi the cable company gave me. Couldn’t get a signal at the pool to get on GTA.

Put an another access point in the middle window up there. About 40 yards away and I’m now getting 30 mbps down 10 mbps up. Happy I can post this from the pool!

Went to a family reunion, my 50th attending. Dad died when I was 18 but I have kept the tradition by going. Brought my child Bride, 3 of our Daughters, their husbands, and 6 Grand-kids!
I hugged my family that I miss all year... Cousins I grew up with. THEY are getting old.
I am the designated "Game Chancellor" so I took my Corn Hole, Washers, Bocci Ball, Pickle Ball, Horse Shoes, and a tarp / sawdust / pocket change for the "littles" penny pitch.
Ate too much GOOD food...and drank too much "sex in a canoe" beer.
 Jim was in the truck waiting until it was over.
All is good in the world right now.

Well in reference to my other thread about "old farts", my old age is proven by how shocked I am at lumber prices.  2x4x8 used to be well under a buck!  But what really gets me is the cost for copper plumbing fittings.  I remember buying a ton of extra fittings for each job because you never know what you will need.  Now I can barely afford the minimum I need.  The last couple jobs I've done I've used PEX because fewer fittings.  And its not uncommon to spend $20 for a single Sharkbite valve.  Yikes!

I could use a lefthanded sheath.  How difficult is it to make?

Not very hard at all if simple is it. I have made a couple I even made a left handed leather holster for a Black Powder Shooter I once knew, Western style with rose pattern. I made a stiffer Scabbard for an Eagle Scout in my kid's troop. He made a knife from an edger blade, I sharpened it very nice, then realized it was dangerous. I used leather from a dumped sofa. That is croma leather and not embossable, but it did dye up a little darker.I first made a clam shell of HD paint sticks, (5 Gallon size stick) and some thinner wood.  I liked it with very thin suede, I then encased it with couch leather and added a strap.

He made an awesome knife and I figured it deserved a nice sheath. If I had a TANDY Leather store I would have just used leather, but remember to put a "gasket" of leather between the two halves so the Blade can't destroy the stitching....it will one day, but should last for years.  You can check out a Boy Scout Shop they have kits, If they fit, you just mate the parts backwards, (ugly side), not pretty , but effective.

I have kept very few art pieces for myself, or pictures, but if I can open my chef knife sheath I can snap a pic and send it. Knives with no sheaths in draws get very dull too quick. Card board is ok for smaller knives, but larger ones are better served with a better Material.

If/when I have to do any plumbing repairs on my house, I am considering PEX.   I know there is already some PEX in the crawlspace...  I think...

She is driving my old dog nuts and me too trying to anticipate when she has to pee/poop which is about every 10 minutes it seems.  Reminds me of why we have gotten old dogs from the shelter after one passes on.  They are normally housebroken, quiet, and just like to lay down beside your chair and snooze.

Given the cost and risk of leak in the long run with the Sharkbite stuff, I opted to buy the hand operated clamp tool for my first project with PEX. I figured for $65 it was worth adding to the tool box--I see more PEX in my future, but can't justify the extra cost of a more powerful crimping tool. (I could have done better online instead of buying it off the shelf at Lowes, but I did need the tool on short notice..). However, hand cinching those clamps with the tool isn't a piece of cake--I need to get some pipes to slip over the ends of the tool handles to get a little extra leverage.

While reviewing some info tonight, I saw one system by Uponor. The Uponor Logic system is pretty nifty, I guess, so long as the fittings shrink back like they are supposed too. (I wonder if they are hard to do in cold weather?)

Nope, haven't seen it/them?   They would be well advised to put them on Youtube ASAP as many of US don't watch much "TV"...

I would already own one, but $50 is a little steep for a salt gun, imho.

LOL!   I do the same thing.   All I have is antenna and the internet.   The internet is via "cable" but I don't have cable "TV".

TV is just "background" noise most of the time and is usually on MeTV for their older shows.   Nothing new on network TV interests me.

If they've got an American made tool on the shelf I think I can use I'll buy it.
