With that said, hopefully the gen 2 will render most of it irrelevant.

If the produ tion gen 2's come anything like the one I shot, the only thing they should need is a polish and lube job on the trigger.
I did explain to the DAR rep (before he left for China) about the trigger and sear being either stamped or waterer cut and the "record grooves" like ridges being what made the trigger feel crappy. I asked that the factory please at least sand/polish in the dire tion of trigger/sear travel to eliminate the "record groove" stickiness.
Maybe they will listen to that, maybe not, we'll see.

The thing that's really nice about all the 1st Gen DAR's is the ample adjustability you can get from them. They're the first guns I've bought you could crank up as far as you really need them without any heavy modifications.

You are correct. I liked everything about it, it's platform, adjustability, regulator and the fact that the hammer had a nylon sleeve to slide in so there was no galling. Lack of quality was it's falling so it can only get better. My DAR 25 is patiently waiting for it's new design Magazine.

Last time that I seen the DAR Dana had one in a video that he was going to do testing on I guess. I watched it about 4 or 5 days ago.

I have recently spoken with DAR/Aim Sports.
Several of the production model gen 2's are being field tested and evaluated starting this past weekend.
With the holiday weekend upon us, and people have plans with family and events, Evaluation results and reviews should be available within the next few weeks.
I will post an update when I have more info to share.
They were VERY slow in coming from the manufacturer in China. It has been quite frustrating to say the least.
The field testers chosen to do the evaluations are knowledgeable, experienced, respected members here on the GTA.
Once they complete their evaluations, and hopefully any "bugs" that are found can be worked out,
Then the guns will become available for purchase.
Those who chose to return their guns back in December of last year to wait for the Gen 2's will be the first guns shipped out.

Last fall was the last time that I used any of my DAR's, I did get out with the .25 today for the first time this year. I had forgotten just how much of a beast it is, plenty of power with 50fpe last that I checked. I didn't see any red squirrels today but I did shoot a couple chipmunks. I really do like the gun a lot and I think I'll take it back out tomorrow, it's loving my 26 grainers.

update on the DAR Gen 2 guns.

1500 guns, (500 each in .177, .22, and .25) have arrived from the manufacturer in China.
Yes, I have seen the shipment arrival.

After some very extensive testing by myself and several knowledgeable and respected shooters, we have collectively identified a few issues that DAR is having corrected before doing a public release.
DAR is committed to having these guns performing up to there full potential before releasing them to avoid having unhappy customers and excessive returns.
DAR is well aware that several people are wanting and waiting for the release of the Gen 2.

Once we have corrected the issues of concern,
the first guns to be released, will go out to those people who chose to return their guns (way back in December) to wait for the Gen 2 replacements.

Yes, this has taken much longer than anyone had expected,.... Including DAR.

The manufacturer in China has been quite slow to get the guns here in the time frame they had originally committed to.
Then, once they arrived here in the USA, (and were immediatly submitted to some rather extensive field testing), it was realized that these guns need a little more attention.

Trust me,
DAR is just as frustrated as everyone of us who have been waiting for them. Actually, they are MORE frustrated, considering the large amount of cash investment it took to get them here.

There ARE some FANTASTIC points about the gen 2's also., and I will provide more details to those in my next update...

... but right now today, the Arizona thermometers are only reading 90* today, (compared to the recent miserable 110* - 114*)we have been enduring for the past few weeks), so I am going to take advantage of this ** Cooler Weather **, and get some more trigger time in doing some more testing.
