Thanks Ron for the update. No need to rush even though I have been waiting eagerly. But I would rather receive something that works great out of box rather than have to test my mod skills.

First thing you've got to remember, is that this will be a $350 gun. We can't EXPECT IT to come straight out of the box and go put a spanking a $1000-$2000 gun. That's just not going to happen.
Second thing to remember is, that pretty much ALL Airguns, (yep, every single one of them commercially produced), can and will benefit, from a tune and attention from a knowledgeable, skilled, and experienced airgunsmith/tuner.

I don't want to buy another DAR I just want to buy some magazines, it's been a year now and still haven't gotten any spare mags yet.

Jason they actually promised us that we would be able to buy mags for them and it still hasn't happened yet, not only that I wouldn't even know where to order them from now because I'm sure that the original distributor isn't going to sell them anymore. I've been shooting my 25 cal recently and the thing is shooting just fantastic but what a pain in the butt to carry a tin of pellets with me to reload after 10 shots

Today I took my DAR177 out to the state land, shot it probably 7 times and still laser accurate but the poppet broke. I Gorilla Super glued it back together, gonna let it cure for 24 hours like required and give it a whirl after I do a little dress up in the drill press where it's glued. It broke right where the stem bottoms in it so the sealing surface is still in great shape. If it doesn't work I'll have to make a new one for it.

I reassembled the clip for my .22 DAR yesterday, it does need to come back apart but it works by tapping on it for now, I need to sand down the glued part to get it to work better, I just put my chrony up too, should have tested it with my 19.6 grainers but at the time I didn't even think of it, I was doing a chrony test with my ATI Freedom which I put back together with great success this morning and it's ready for the field except I'll have to sight it in again. I had my DAR25 out yesterday and got a ground hog with it, it's the first Ghog I've gotten with it.

No "new" news to report really.
We are just waiting on China to get their act together.
"supposedly" the parts I requested to be changed will be on a boat coming this way within the next 2 or 3 weeks.
So until they get here, ... we wait.

I have done some "massaging" to my Gen 2 test gun, and it is performing at a VERY impressive level.
Just need to get those touch-ups incorporated in the factory and we'll be ready to go.
These guns are quite impressive,
ESPECIALLY considering the class / pricepoint.

I was shooting the heads off of flies at 30 yds today, and dimes at 50 yds was not a difficult task either.
and here's a little teaser for you...

... I have made the arrangements, and intend to have an experienced shooter at EBR in October for the .22 50yd competitions.
He began practicing for that competition today,
using a Gen 2,
and we will be practicing heavily every week at Rio Salado,
right up to the competition.

It wasn't a real big one but I'll be going back to that same area soon, I'm going to do a stakeout in that area along with a lounge chair and refreshments as well. There's red squirrels in the area too and I think if the critters get use to me being there they might even get a little more bold. It's going to make a good pre big squirrel spot to keep me occupied until September 15th is here, that's when the big squirrel season is open.

I recently stopped by Ron's on my way home from California.
I can tell you his above statements are NOT BS in any way, shape, or form!
The Gun was a pleasure to shoot and I will own one in the future.
My best shooting AG is the Hatsan Nova but I can see the Gen 2 giving it a run for it's money at a way better price!

The Hatsan Nova is that good of a shooter?
Always curious about them. The turn off has been is the weight.

The DAR sounds like one to put on my short list.

The Nova I have I bought from Rocker1.
I have done 3/4 inch groups at 103 yards with it. It's a .25
It is a heavy gun but I only shoot from a bench so really doesn't bother me.
The DAR is much lighter and was a real pleasure to shoot.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Nova myself but it was a little too pricey for me. I like my DARs a lot and glad that I didn't let them go back for a refund even if they're not the second gen.

I had never shot the DAR until Ron called me and detoured me to his place on my way home.
I'd planned a whole different trip. So I spent a day with Ron and the DAR Gen 2.
Everything he tells you about this gun is spot on! It is a fantastic shooter that I can see doing great at 100 yards!
I did a nickel size group, 10 rounds, at 30 yards and that was after a "few" beers.

I can see doing way better if Ron had not of lubed me up.

Jeff I nailed a red squirrel in the head at 50 yards yesterday with my DAR25 and that's using my 26 grain cast pellets. The pellets I cast are just as accurate as the JSB 25.39's IMO.
