Got a used .177 FX Cyclone about 10 years back....great excellent PCP...shoots any pellet very accurately...out to 100 yards plus!!!  Only complain I had was there was no plug for the air intake (Got a cap for both my Air Arms and BSA PCPs)...I always worry dirt or dust can get in there.  I just use plastic tape to cover over it (Someone made and sold brass plugs (One end can be bolted) for that).  And yep....4 years ago there was a very small leak...then it got larger....finally the air rifle couldn't hold air.  Must be an "O" ring or something...haven't had time to open her up yet.

I own an FX Impact X.

Doesn't leak. It has been sitting in my locker for 3 months and still has the same bottle pressure and reg set pressure as I put it away with. (2 Kids, colder weather and increased hours at work have limited my time to do any shooting... )

It is stupid accurate. WAY more accurate than I am. It has a level of adjustment that most will not use. I enjoy that aspect of it. I have 3 different caliber barrels for it and I like figuring out the settings and being able to swap out the caliber for what I'll be doing with the gun.

To bash the company because there were a few bad regulators or some leaky o-rings is wrong, in my opinion. People don't often post about a gun when it meets expectations. When you pay that much for a gun and it does exactly what you expect, you don't post about it. If it falls short for any reason, there will be posts. Many of them, typically. That is what you see when you do a search. Bad posts. Complaints. So, that will paint the picture for you. People complain. Squeaky wheels get the grease....

These guns use small o-rings to contain high pressure. They are put together by people and there will be issues. Any mechanical device assembled by humans will have issues. How the company handles it, to me, is the most important factor when I consider where to spend my money.

I love the gun. Can't say enough good things about it.  So, to the OP, I say no. FX isn't bad. Quite the opposite. I think they make some of the best shooting, most innovative guns available today. Are they worth the money? That's a whole different topic and each of us has our own answer for that. You can get other guns that have similar accuracy or similar shot count or similar power for less money. Can you get another gun with all of these things plus the adjustability and the ability to swap calibers easily? Not that I know of.

I owned a FX as well.  I had the Royale 400.  It was a great gun.  Was it perfect?  No.  Did the performance match the pricetag?  Maybe. 

I decided to sell it because I felt that I could better enjoy the equity that I had in that rifle more in other items.  In my case I bought a shoebox compressor, a kral bigmax, and have some remaining in my "gun fund".

I like mine too.  Enough that I had Dennis seal it back up last year.  I have the .177 and it really loves NSA's smaller slugs.  just amazing groups.

I revisit the thought of one day buying an FX periodically.  No doubt they innovate; same could be said for SPA with guns like the PR900 and M-30.  I see a bunch of refinement occurring but not a lot of truly new ideas, so the innovators should get props for the effort and work.  I consider Evanix part of the Innovators crowd, as well as Kral and Hatsan.   We have a lot of options in airgunning and especially in the PCP realm.  For those who can afford them without a qualm, why not go for it. 

A good dealership network, a rep for durability and out of the box shootability are equally important... They should not even be a subject of conversation on airguns costing north of $1000.  Those guns should just simply work, and while lemons occur, you certainly expect less lemons at Porsche than you do at Ford.  But why not get one?  the worst that can happen is you get a dud and have to RMA it- it's not like going through a divorce.

I have a fx royale 500 that I have owned since November 2017 and have put 30,000 rounds through it and the only thing I had to do was replace seals which any Airguns will require and accuracy is top notch unbelievable rifle and just purchased a fx impact x 25 cal with 700mm barrel in silver this gun is the best but you need to understand the weapon fx is a great product pricey but you get what you pay for.

I have owned both a FX-Impact and a FX-Wildcat for a couple of years.  Both shoot hole in hole at 25 yds right out of the box.  Never a problem.  The Impact is .25 and the Wildcat is .22.  Love 'em both.

The innovation of the interchangeable smooth twist X barrels, the external click dial adjustments for TP and hammer spring, externally adjustable regulator all in a light weight package is prenominal. I have purchased the .22cal, .25cal and .30cal barrel kits that can be changed in 5 minutes or less. As well as the arrow shooting kit. I have never been an FX fan because of the cost, but the new Dreamline has convinced me to buy one.  It has all the features and adjustability of the Crown at a lot lower price.   I should have it within a week.  You can argue this all day long, but FX sells a ton of airguns, so they are generally well respected.

Just for fun, stop by your neighborhood Porsche dealer and ask how many hours are spent in dealer prep and tune to local conditions. You don't think they just fall off the truck and run like that do you?
how many of you current rifles were performing to your expectations "out of the box"?
I apply one standard to everything built by human beings... sht happens, o-rings get nicked on assembly and may only start leaking after multiple pressure cycles. I've done it, I'm sure most would admit that not every seal they've installed was perfectly done.

As an olive branch of peace between us, I'd be willing to buy your .25 Impact for invoice.  If you'd like it repaired, buy it a round trip ticket to my shop and I'll do the work for free.

That's why I buy Jap cars.  I've owned a number of them and usually keep them for 15 to 20 years.  All I do is put GTO (gas, tires and oil) in them.

Regardless. the success of a company depends on two things: quality and CUSTOMER SERVICE, the latter is most important.  Yep, you will get a bad product from time to time, but you had better fix it quick.  Your reputation can go down the toilet pretty fast.

as an FX dealer, of course I'm a little biased.
I will admit that every gun I own has had minor issues. stock blemishes, a missing screw, etc...  nothing earth shattering, nothing other than cosmetic, and FX USA is more than glad to remedy all situations.
My impression is that the majority of the trouble is caused by inconsistent dealer prep.  FX USA is under pressure to deliver guns as fast as possible because their marketing model creates high demand for their products before the pipeline has a chance to catch up.  when things go straight from the container to the customer, details fall through the cracks. everyone expects perfection, but no one actually makes sure it's so.  I won't start the infomercial for my services here, but where you buy makes a difference in your experience.  I know from talking with Jon that they've increased staff from 4 last year to 12, so more eyes should mean better QC.

I disagree with you on one point: the product going out the manufacturers door had better be complete and tested for function.  Missing parts, leaks etc is inexcusable.  Depending on the dealer to fix that stuff is bad business, because many dealers don't check them.  They pull a box off the shelf and send it to the customer.  Case in point is cars and RVs.  I would rather not have a warranty and be confident that my product works and works well than have a 10 year warranty and have to bring it in to get things repaired constantly.

I own 3 Fx rifles and never had an issue with any of them and they are all super accurate right out of the box. I also own two high-end Daystates, and on both using the magazine actually chips metal off of the  pellet probe. Daystates response: the damage is just cosmetic.

Ditto.  After buying several air rifles that needed tinkering and tuning to get accuracy I finally got feed up and bought a used FX Crown 30 Cal.  Small squirrels at 75 yards are now no problem.  Two out past 100 yards.  I am very impressed.  I would have spent less by getting this gun in the first place but I didn't know what I didn't know.  I am making amazingly difficult shots on these tiny squirrels!

I state at ne time that I wouldn't trade my RSII for an FX. However, with Evanix now completely withdrawn for any and all customer support, I will Not buy another!
