My son spent the weekend with us and wanted to so some shooting.   He wanted to shoot PBs.   I've been trying to get him interested in AGs for a few  years without much success.  His work will keep him in a city where PBs will be difficult to own.  But AGs are always shootable at home where ever you live.   Maybe a high power, semi-auto PCP would get his attention but that could be illegal in NYC.  I'll keep trying to get the AG interest going.

Oh they are. I forgot just how much fun. Reminded me of my childhood.

I changed out both my 25 and 30 yard spinner spoons.  The old ones were too shot up and had become too dull to see with my peep sighted rifles.

Mounted my new Hawke mini red dot sight on my Diana Chaser carbine.  Fits the Chaser as if it was made for it.

Stomped around in the woods with the Gamo after work.
Sat on "the sitting rock" and solved all the world's problems...
Discharged one pellet safely before packing up.
Noted 2 miles of walking from OnX app.
Made plans for tomorrow aka the last day of squirrel season here in Georgia

Forgot to take pictures but I went for a walk in the fresh snow yesterday morning on the hunt for snowshoe hares. Didn't see a single set of fresh hare tracks, but I did come home with two pine squirrels, which the pups greatly appreciated.

Finally had some quality time with the Herc bully. Mounted the scope and installed the moderator on it. Waiting on a mold and gun case for it. Did dig out one mold that might make some ammo for it. Hopefully it's not raining in the morning, I can get that started.

Stomped around in the woods with my new WMA AG hunting buddy as an excuse to "test drive" a new to me AEA Challenger in .30.  We struck an accord and will have some wings and trading Friday (I'll have to post on the what did you receive thread...lol).
I like the power, the bolt action and the accuracy.  It is heavier than the Gamo synthetic break barrel, but 8 times the knock down power and 3 times the range.

One thing I plan to add to my AEA .30 Challenger,  is a sling, last fall I carried the gun for a couple miles, end of the hunt, I was a bit shaky when it came to aim and discharge the round I had chambered, from the fatigue.

I've been enjoying shooting tin cans at 50 - 60 yrd with my R7 .177 and Hw50 .22.  But what I don't like is have to change the cans out.  I decided to cut some 4" length pieces off of a old cyclone fence corner post.  The post diameter in almost the same as a soup can diameter.  I cut five pieces, drilled two holes in the top edge across from each other. I've painted some orange and some yellow. I also cut some 4" pieces off of a smaller diameter cyclone fence line post.  I'm curious how they're going to sound.  I'll be hanging them 6'   off the ground at 45, 50, 55, & 60 yards. Using tie wire and paracord to hang them.

Ran Betty Lou's gun that I have been tinkering on for the past couple days over the chrono this morning. It's all done now and awaiting her approval.
I think I will wander around the property and look for things to make targets out of.. I know I have a couple old dinner type bells and probably plenty of other stuff.
I need to set up the paint sprayer and paint a bunch of those steel blanks. We'll see.

How quickly plans change..
I received a little care package in the mail this morning from Mike at MRodAir.
In it was enough parts and seals to rebuild the top end of both cylinders on my AirMax Extreme MKII compressor.... twice.
Looks like I know what I'll be doing after breakfast.

Hmmm... I've got some old t-shaped clothesline posts on my property I've been thinking of taking down. I may take one down and cut up the round tube for targets myself. I think those would maie a nice addition to my shooting gallery.

So Steve led with ... "Let's let you carry this thing around on our hike and see how you feel about it."  We only did three miles and this time along road/trail/path.  It wasn't heavy enough to discourage me, but the truck sure looked good the last 500 yards...lol
