What airgun related did you do today?

Stomped around in the woods with my new WMA AG hunting buddy as an excuse to "test drive" a new to me AEA Challenger in .30.  We struck an accord and will have some wings and trading Friday (I'll have to post on the what did you receive thread...lol).
I like the power, the bolt action and the accuracy.  It is heavier than the Gamo synthetic break barrel, but 8 times the knock down power and 3 times the range.

One thing I plan to add to my AEA .30 Challenger,  is a sling, last fall I carried the gun for a couple miles, end of the hunt, I was a bit shaky when it came to aim and discharge the round I had chambered, from the fatigue.

So Steve led with ... "Let's let you carry this thing around on our hike and see how you feel about it."  We only did three miles and this time along road/trail/path.  It wasn't heavy enough to discourage me, but the truck sure looked good the last 500 yards...lol

My 457 Challenger 'pup is some obnoxious 15-ish lbs with optics and a sling. I carried it through the woods once and not something I would like to do again. This deer season I'm going to put up a ladder stand and wait for the deer rather than haul it around all day.

I'm looking for a bell target.  Anyone know of where I can get a nice quality one?


I am setting up my shop to be able to have some entertaining activities in it (pool table, darts, bell target) and adding a bell target sounds like just the right game to have indoors at a short distance.  I have a FWB300S that I'm considering swapping out the scope for the original diopter sights and I have a Daisy 953 (currently leaking) that wears diopter sights.  Those would be great bell target rifles I think.

I declared today a snow day and tuned the Bandito and put a wood stock on the Stormrider

The Bandito is slinging JSB 10.03 KO slugs at 925 FPS.
The Stormrider is tuned for 675 FPS with Crosman 14.3

Watched some Night vision Rat hunting videos, always makes me feel good and bad at the same time, feels good watching Rats get shot by air rifle, feels bad I'm not the one doing it..... , oh well, I get to dodge tornados tonight got the shelter all de-spidered and ready, harbor freight weed torch works great for that...

 I was going to shoot more HOSP, with the .177 PP700sa, but ended up empty from a search for an Artemis fill probe, only a Hatsan probe in my bottle bag, and no probes in my portable compressor bag. I now deem the Artemis probe the 10mm wrench of fill probes, many guns use them, never to be found when needed

Thank you Scott.  I have been there before.  More effort then I want to take on.  I’m more inclined to purchase one ready to shoot.  I would like to build my own but my spare time is close to nil these days.  I have to go to work just to get a break… 😱😆

I've running the heck out of my rebuilt Vevor compressor lately filling guns in the Red Shed. The Yong Heng has been kept on the bench in the utility room of the house. I bought it new through Walmart and purchased the 3 year extended warranty. I wanted to take advantage of that warranty and used it to fill tanks... not alot but I did use it. I'm maybe 2 years into that warranty and the little YH has more than proven itself as worthy.
Now that Big Red (MRodAir MKII AirMax Extreme) is back up and running after a recent rebuild. It can be used for filling those tanks when needed.
I think I'm going to swap out the YH and the Vevor. Give the Vevor a break and use the YH for the daily task of direct gun filling. The Vevor can sit in the utility room and serve as a back up.
I have kits to rebuild any of them if needed so long as it's not a major breakdown.

Small game season ends March 5th.  I'm spending as much time as possible in the woods for the next two days.  I took my .25 caliber mod 125 out to a spot in the Morrison Hammock wilderness area and plunked my stool down behind a screen of palmettos where I could watch a hundred yards or so stretch of creek flood plane. There's a big downed Beech tree that spans the creek and makes a crossing for all sorts of wild life.  No luck today but it was still a beautiful morning in the woods.

Finally… finished up the ground work for my 0-100 meter range. I should’ve taken a “before” picture, it was a mess. But, I haven’t really been serious about using this until now, I’m pretty pumped. Those frames will hold 24”x36” plywood or any size gong I feel like, on chains…

I have a couple spares I bought from AAF, and have stuck one in the gun with a dust cap there to stay   I topped off the pp700, with my New Warrior portable compressor, I must have been thinking along with Bill's thinking , and decided leaving the compressor at work in my shop was a good idea as that is where I use it the most, and have a 2L bottle in the truck for in the field top offs.
 So with the fresh charge on the pp700 I was only able to get a few shots off, and confirmed kills on some aerosol cans that had gone bad, the 3/4 full spray foam can was even too gory to post in the hunting gate

My Umarex Notos came in yesterday, did a good cleaning and dialed in the trigger, shot a few pellets across the Chrony and got 781 fps average with 14.3 Crosman HP's, put a UTG 4-16x44 compact scope I had laying around with some medium height scope rings on it, perfect height, now I'm going to sight it in out in the backyard, going to mainly use the Crosman's but I have some JSB 14's and 15's too, hopefully one or all will group really well.

Hey David, the moderator is plastic and it looks to be bonded to the Barrel or the shroud, not sure unless I tear it apart, it's pretty short, with the stock un-extended it's 31-1/4", with the stock extended it's 34", or you could use it in Pistol mode, I would definitely recommend this gun, it's really accurate and it's got good power, for ranges up to 60 yards it would out perform a Prod anyday, I just sighted mine in and it Loves Crosman Hollow points, and I got LOTS of Crosman Hollow points.....
