The end of last July,or middle of August I tried a shortened 1377 barrel on my 2240,along with an LDC. (Most of the time the 2240 is a 1740 long rifle).
Now that I have a second 2240 as a full time pistol, I"m trying that short .177 barrel again.
Tried a full length 1377 barrel on it and it shotgun patterned. bah! we'll fix that!
 
So  that's what I did tonight, put that short .177 back on, but probably won't get to try it till at least Sunday afternoon, when we're back home.

My latest 2240, will stay in pistol form, but with a 3 screw change over I hope to go back and forth between .177 and .22.
I have a 7 1/2" in both calibers and a 10.1" in both calibers. See what I can do.

Is that black plastic stronger?  I was thinking just a metal nail or screw could be used in place of that peice, it might be better. Either way im working on a single shot tray.


Also see too, it can be used with an extended bolt probe, but probably not the hollow probes.

And i need to find a shorter back screw to use the breech. Maybe 2/3 a cm too long

And... find the right rubber band for that magazine. I think trying to use a tape measure spring requires the file to be slightly edited.

No only way I can think to make it better as I have printed 5 of them is to print in a different orientation.

If you have the equipment, mellon sent me 2 stubby .22 barrels i should see sometime and i guess the first was unfinished so he sent a new one, you can have it if you want.

 I'm using 7 1/2" to be able to still use my front sight.

I don't have it in hands yet. Others say a stubbie is 6" but idk what mellon cuts his to. It is supposed to be just as long as the body with screw cap. A front sight can be used (i think with small modification/sanding) as alot of users posting them (twisted sister )

I measure and cut my own barrels so, with the Disco muzzle break, they come out even with the end cap. It just works out that there is just enough room for a barrel band with the long breech. The Disco break is inletted for a nice fit.

May not need the barrel band;  free floating barrel, like a 1701?

True... I just like a barrel band to keep things tight and in place.

This was a couple of days ago...

I was shooting my first ATI Nova Freedom .177 inside at 10 yards/meters for fun and making sure my zero was accurate.

I was pumping after every 2 shots, 4 to 6 pumps.   SUDDENLY...

The pump arm would not extend fully and it became hard to pump.   With much effort, I can extend the pump arm fully

and pump the gun back to 3000psi, but it is a real chore now as I have to put about 60 to 80 pounds of pressure just to fully extend the pump arm.

I hope this is just an O-ring issue, but I did try to take the pump portion of the gun apart and found that I am not really up to this task.  (sigh)

I do have over 3000 shots/pellets through this gun.

Anyway, I am re-evaluating my purchase(s) of the Freedom.   The gun has ALWAYS been well lubricated and after the initial pump up to 3200 psi, it has never been pumped more than about 20 times in one pumping.

If I send it back to ATI (still under 1 year warranty), they will just send me a *new* gun.   I don't like that business model...

Well, yes it was pumped more than 20 pumps when I purged the gun with the purge screw.   Don't remember why I had to do that, although I am sure I posted about it here... somewhere.
