What airgun related did you do today?

So far all I have done that is airgun related is pump up the Wildcat.  I may pump up the Streamline too and shoot that on low.

I broke out the Ruger Airhawk Elite II today. I had put a different scope on it a few months back and had never sighted it in. The scope was a UTG 3-9 x 40 AO Mil dot. I tried and tried but for some reason I could never get it sighted in like I wanted it. So I decided just to take the scope off and leave this rifle with open sights. Boy was I surprised with the accuracy using open sights, at 20 - 25 yards I could consistently hit my 2" spinners. I had been disappointed with the accuracy of this rifle using scopes. This rifle was a refurb and it came with a horrible trigger, after hearing my plea for help Mikeyb walked me through trigger modifications and it now has a great trigger. So after today, I think this will be a great off-hand, open sights plinking rifle.

Not as exciting as most. Finished cleaning the garage and found the pvc to build a target stand for my back field. Live on 15 acres. Cut out a nice 100yd lane.

Seems the more I do to it, the less it "moderates".  (chuckle)

LOL!   I am learning... and getting better.   Never have even considered going commercial with my concepts.  I am just trying to make my Freedoms "mouse fart" quiet as I sometimes HAVE to take them outside to shoot a Chipmunk on the wood pile, which is not in one of my usual safe kill zones that I can shoot at from a window.   Also, even though I almost always shoot from about 12 feet inside my house, the sound does carry.  Especially without any "moderation".


After I accomplish that, I will work on moderating the 1377 as well, but that will take a longer barrel on the 1377.

P.S.
Maybe I just need to move the wood pile?  (chuckle)

That's great! I am on 5 acres but sure wish some of it was woods instead of just dirt and sage brush and weeds. I love how it looks around here when it greens up in "winter". We don't always get snow close like in the pic, but do every few years. We always have a handful or more of days that get to freezing but most of them still end up at least 50 as a high.

I'm thinking I'll get reacquainted with a couple of my break barrel air guns since my compressor is down and awaiting parts from China...  I still have a Gamo in .177 and a Benjamin in .22...  Good a time as any to remind myself why I switched to PCP!

Shot the FWB and the HW30S .22.  I had taken off the scope (Leu 3-9X33mm VXII) from the FWB Sport and was wondering which rifle to put the scope on, since three were open to consider:

The .25 Caliber has open sights
The HW35E .22 has open sights
The HW30S .22 has open sights

I decided to give the scope to the H30S in .22, and I am sighting it in while retightening screws I had thought were tight.  I can catch the pellets looping in flight and they are doing the right thing--I blew up a mushroom in the tree stump in front of my wife and she said, "I SAW THAT!" not realizing the quiet little HW30 in .22 is a real killer!

The others can wait awhile for scopes, if I ever get around to it.  So far the open sights on the FWB make the rifle more dynamic and the sights are actually quite nice.

 Today, after work, I was sorting the parts in house to finish the 2060 hybrid Crosman Benjiman carbine "Crojiman" rebuild version 3.0.
 Found a PA  from MagnumAirpower I had bought and completely forgot about!

I gathered all the things I will need for my first real squirrel hunt of the season.
I sprayed the clothes with permethrin to repel Red Bugs and Ticks.
I got the game bag, hat, gloves, face mask, and skinning knife. 
The boots and socks are by the door, along with the shooting stick and stool. 
That seems like everything. 


Oh, wait!  I will probably need the Marauder .25.

I have a high school friend that has raccoon problem around his deer stand. Here is the catch, he wants to shoot deer and turkey with it as well. He was all good with the Texan SS until I hit him with the cost of the gun, the support for it, and ammo. The phone went silent, I tried guys, but he went into sticker shock. He just spent 20,000 on a compact tractor for the hunting lease he is on. Go figure. I will just enable the newbies here on GTA from now on.
