Another smokehouse brisket sammich from Arby's. They put bacon on it too. Don't know why they don't show it in their pic but that sucker is tasty!

Stopped at Jacks and had a good old southern fried chicken dinner. Mashed taters, slaw and biscuit. Much better than KFC.

My mom lives pretty independently just across the street from us.  She is getting older and I’m concerned that she doesn’t eat right.  So I started insisting that we all eat together at least twice a week and preferably more often.  Tonight we made grilled chicken, a steamed vegetable medley, steamed asparagus with goat cheese, and a baked potato.  We ate it under the gazebo at mom’s house where we could watch the river sliding slowly past and the sunset painting the sky to the west.  The sum of the many parts of this meal was far greater than the cost of the food.  A good meal with my family in a beautiful setting on a lovely evening.

Same here Sam I have to or she'll eat junk and sometimes not eat at all. Our moms cooked for us even when they didn't feel like it so I'm doing the same.

Hog showed up at 4am so I shot at it but don't think I hit it then it ran into the woods. Since I was up I made a pbj sammich that sure hit the spot.

First time making Oklahoma onion burgers. Similar to a smash burger. Thus thing is super tasty! Family approves!

One of those griddles of mine warped after wiping it with wet rags so now I just let it cool then lay a wet rag on it for awhile to soften the debris so it's ez to wipe off.

Can't go wrong with grilled onions. I could eat a whole onion with nothing else if grilled or caramelized.

I ate and actually liked a ConAgra special, the Hungry Man Beer-Battered Chicken dinner, baked in an oven instead of nuked. With the classic not very good mashed potatoes (tasted just like old flaked stuff) and decent mixed veggies and brownie. The chicken was surprisingly good, though. I would buy it again.

Home Chef "Sunday Braised Beef" last night was better, which it should be for the price difference.

I just ate some Mulberries and then a bowl full of Strawberries with whip cream.

 Now that I got desert out of the way, I am having two Hot Dogs.

One of my co-workers is an amazing cook.  He’s just a local good ol’ boy who happens to have an incredible palette.  Yesterday he made Tom Yum, Thai lemon grass soup, and man was it good!  He and his wife ran a restaurant in Manila for several years and his Phillipino food is also incredibly good.  He says I’m the only one at work that even recognizes half of what he makes.  All I know is he is always dropping really good food on me!
