The food bank where we volunteer received a truckload of frozen turkeys. After distributing many of the turkeys to the clients, there were a lot left over and no way to store them so volunteers took some home. I cooked our turkey today and it was pretty mediocre. A frozen turkey can not compare to the carefully raised fresh turkeys we get from our local farmer friend. I'm still gonna eat leftover turkey, make turkey soup and turkey sandwiches. I won't let that sad frozen turkey go to waste.

I am perfectly fine with the frozen ones. Thawed, marinated overnight in white wine and spices and put back in the fridge, deep fried the next day. Takes about 1 hour from start to table.
